We stayed here for 2 nights and it was the perfect escape from Vancouver. The lodge was spacious and it has a rustic feel to it. The restaurant overlooking Campbell river has an awesome view that can't be beat! We had the buffet breakfast packaged with our stay and it was really good! We didn't partake in any of the activities that they offered but we did watch other people do the fishing trip and coming back with big fishes which looked like a lot of fun. It also has a nice pool with 2 tubs, a tennis court, and a gym. Didn't see any trails around the river but it would have been nice if there was one.

I was impressed with this place as soon as I pulled up. When I arrived my room was not ready but they accommodated and letting me wait in the lounge and it only took an extra 10 minutes since I showed up 2 hours before check-in time. The facilities are beautiful with fantastic views of the water from the main Lodge. I had a queen room with an ocean view and was not disappointed. There are also several amenities including a pool, Pub and water adventures. My room in the main Lodge was a little dated but very clean with comfortable beds.

Enjoyed a nice lunch at the Tyee Pub at Painters Lodge in Campbell River. However, I will not be back after finding out that numerous contractors who completed renovations last summer have still not been paid. Those that were paid, had to fight just to get their materials covered. I hope that this is not a sign of things to come with the recent change in ownership.

This place is amazing. The fishing was unreal. Keith did a great job guiding us to the Chinooks. We took 5 home in 4 hours

The resort is BEAUTIFUL! Amazing views and the grounds are very well kept. Stunning, really. The staff were awesome! The location is not in town, but not far. The rooms are kind of dated, but clean and the bed was comfortable. I'm only giving this a three star because the food was terrible. The poached eggs in the eggs benedict were raw (every day, even the egg white was runny). In three mornings the breakfast buffet never changed. Dinner was a huge let down as well. Such a let down that we cancelled plans to go to Quadra Island's sister resort for dinner because we feared it would be the same.
