We stayed out of season, in late June. Our room had just been renovated, and I mean just. Paint was fresh and the pictures were in the closet waiting to be re-hung. The balcony is nice. There is a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker as well as a few dishes in the smaller rooms. Unfortunately no desk or chair. But everything was clean and toiletries were stocked.

We had booked at the mountaineer lodge. There are a few lodge buildings so we parked and walked to the lodge just to find a sign saying to go to the other building to check in. This wasn't a huge deal we just felt it was confusing. When we were checking in, the staff didn't give us information as to where our room was, so I asked and they booked us into a different building than what was originally booked. After checking in we went to the parkade to park but neither of our keys would let us in. We had to back out and go back to the front desk where the lady told us that the keys weren't programmed at all (the same staff member thar gave them to us, and she found it amusing). We proceeded back to the parade where only ONE key would open the door. The hotel seemed a bit dark and dingy, and there was a funny smell in the lobby and in our hallway. Our biggest complaint was that there was no air conditioning in the rooms. It was incredibly hot even up on the mountain. I realise that it is on a ski hill and they don't need a.c. in the winter. However, I booked this hotel and paid extra thinking that we would be staying at a beautiful place but I was quite disappointed with our stay. The one redeeming quality was that supper at the saloon down the road was absolutely fantastic! We fully recommend the food! But we won't be returning to the hotel again, ever.

Only stayed one night, but the room was nicer than I was expecting, and the bed was literally the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! (It was a tempurpedic). My view was gorgeous, and I had a balcony which I wasn't expecting!

Incredible views, friendly staff, nasty skiing. Would return.
