Stayed for five nights with my wife and new puppy. When we entered the room, we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was, especially for the price. The staff were very accommodating and handled the yelling match, that happened one night, very promptly. Overall we are very pleased with the stay. Although, the carpet in our room definitely needed to be "Rug Doctored". I would say at least once a month. Still very happy with our stay.

Relatively decent location for the price. The only hang up is the cleanliness of the rooms. Walking in we found a condom(unused) slid halfway under the bed. The bed skirt has stains on it. We found some hairs that did not belong to us in the bed. The decor looked like it has been torn apart. Not to mention the stuff marks all over the walls and ceilings. Just not the level of cleanliness you expect from a chain hotel. Would not recommend

Economical hotel comfortable beds. Stayed here twice. During the second visit the toilet got clogged and when we asked for help, the front desk staff was kind to come and fix it for us. Everything was OK up to this point until the gentleman was leaving with toilet water dripping from the clogger to the carpet from the bathroom to the exit door. At that instant, we started to think what else might there be which we have not witnessed.

Parents were staying there. Place seemed clean and was not noisy. Rooms had ample space and amenities.

September 2017 My partner and I live in Winnipeg, and were looking for a place to stay while having some renovations done to our home. The Howard Johnson Winnipeg West was just a 10 minute drive from work and for less than $100 per night, it was a perfect fit! We have a foster dog that needed to stay with us and they were able to accommodate us with a pet friendly room for only $10 per night. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable, personable and efficient. This hotel is not for everyone, however. This is not a luxurious place to stay and it isn't easily accessible to much of the city (as it is as far west as it gets). It is a simply a comfortable, functional place to stay.
