Upon entering this hotel, I found it to be nice and welcoming. The lady at reception was not so pleasant and didn't know much. We stayed for 4 nights. The pool is nice and the water slide is fun, however the hot tub wasn't even hot and the jets didn't work. We had rooms beside the pool and they were comfortable enough. The bed was clean and cozy. The bathroom set up was weird with the sink outside and the bathroom fan didn't work. I would recommend the restaurant and pub as they are both great. The $5 breakfast is pretty good, just remember to bring your own coffee because they charge too much for their coffee. The hotel has a gym, but its for local members only, that was a total let down. There is a hair stylist on site, but they didn't have room to do a men's haircut for 3 days. I think this hotel could do a lot better. I would suggest giving the hotel patrons more access to the services around the hotel and help them feel included. It just seemed like if you wanted to do anything around the hotel, it cost extra time and money. I would recommend this hotel, but bring extra money

Service was great. Very nice staff and you get offered a free bottle of water per guest (we were offered more as we had a baby with us and they wanted to make sure we had enough for him). The rooms are a little dated and honestly could use some updating if they want to stay competitive for the future, as they have some other hotels to choose from in the area. The rooms was clean and comfortable but the pillows were high and firm, I didn't mind them but some older folks or people with neck/back problems may have issues sleeping. All in all, it's a great place to lay your head and get off the road. They also have a restaurant, pub, pool, hot tub and a few other amenities that we didn't get to use during our stay. Recommended

Lovely hotel with friendly wonderful staff. Very clean, beautiful pool area. The Sunday evening buffet was excellant. Welcoming to our little service dog. Would highly recommend this place for a family holiday

Room was clean and comfortable. It was very hot in our room so we requested a fan and night maintenance came and tried to turn the heat down with no luck so they moved us into another room. Front desk personnel were very friendly & accommodating.

Very nice stay here. Rooms are very clean and the restaurant staff are very good with food arriving quickly and hot. There was a very nice buffet at supper with plenty of choices and a large dessert bar for young and old alike. Front counter staff made you feel welcome immediately and are very friendly and professional This was my first stay here and I will be returning again at my next opportunity to visit Portage.
