Great service and great drinks.

Day 1. Checked in to room 111. Damp floors. Musty smell. Dusty headboards. At least sheets were clean. Outdoor swimming pool was green but apparently still safe. no thanks. Not the best experience but we can deal with it. Day 2. Next morning the wife picks up a face cloth and an earwig falls off of it and into the slowly filling tub with her. (The tub was draining slowly). Wife tells me we are not staying in this room another night. I call the front desk and they agree to move us to floor 2 or 3 reluctantly. Great. It takes them until 3pm to have the new room ready, even though they"put a rush on cleaning the new room". (We called at around 10am). New room is much nicer, dryer. No bugs. Winding down for sleep and at around 10 pm, we hear a blood curdling scream. We wonder if it might be kids horsing around. 10 mins later, another scream. Sure enough, a girl was stabbed down the hall from us. Front desk lady was very unsympathetic when we asked for compensation the next morning. Manager was better, but still haven't received a call back from him. Avoid this hotel unless you like an adventure.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL - DECEMBER 2016 I had a recent stay in this hotel and there were several things that went unaddressed. Mainly the fact that I had a mouse in my room. Problem 1: Rust coming out of the pipes. I had to get bottled water and drink that exclusively. Showering was fun when I had rust in my hair and could feel it hitting me as it came out of the shower head. Problem 2: As I was sitting in the desk chair watching a movie on my computer a mouse ran over my foot. I am completely not scared of the things so I was not alarmed but certainly was disgusted. I called the front desk and they told me that would get me a new room. The new room had a guest in it, which means the hotel staff simply had no situational awareness. Once a vacant room was located I settled in at around 11:30 PM. For my "Trouble" I was given free breakfast. Are you kidding? Poor excuse for a solution. My stay should have been free. Problem 3: No hot water in the new room at the sink. This made shaving in the morning interesting. There was also no way to make hot water for the sink so I was forced to shave in the shower with no mirror. That was fun. Overall I would recommend you go to the newer hotel over in Dartmouth Crossing. Much better option. By the way I have stayed in this hotel about 10 times in the past but this was for sure my last stay.

Want to rate 5 star for the stay we had but I realize it's not what most would call 5 star. We had a great stay. Awesome location. Right next to Bridge and ferry to Halifax. 8 minutes drive to mic Mac mall. 10 minute drive to Dartmouth crossing. Hotel is clean. Rooms are good size. We had balcony room, enjoyed that! Service is great. Restaurant was delicious (recommend the Chicken and asparagus salad). We have no complaints. May have helped that we had just left a not so great super 8 in PEI.

The restaurant's Seafood Chowder and Lobster Omelette truly deserve 5 stars each. Service was excellent, too. On our short visit to Dartmouth/Halifax this restaurant had the best meals of all the restaurants we tried. Who would have thought? (We stayed at this hotel).
