First of all $153 a night for a Motel 6 is ridiculous secondly when I booked I asked for an upper floor away from the elevator. When I checked in they gave me a room on the ground floor. When I mentioned my reservation request they stated “oh we don’t see that on our computer”. When I went to my room it was one of the smallest queen size beds I’ve ever seen and the room was crawling with ants. On the bed, the bed side table and the floor. I asked for another room and they gave me a room with two twin beds right across from the elevator. So much for booking and paying for a queen size bed away from the elevators. I’ve stayed here twice before and the rate was never that high and the rooms were better but close to what I’d expect for a low rate, no frills motel chain. I was totally put off by this stay and will probably never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. I stayed the next night in the Motel 6 in Peterborough for $30 a night less, on an upper floor and once again a small queen size bed, if it was one at all.

We stayed at the motel 6 in Huntsville on Saturday July 21st for a wedding. Upon entering the room there was an overwhelming cigarette smell. I went to the front desk twice to address the issue. The first time I was told that there was nothing he could do. I was given a can of air freshener. The next morning I went down and I was told there was no manager or anyone else I could speak to about the issue. I have terrible allergies and was assured during the booking process that it was a clean room. Very dissatisfied with how the issue was handled.

The condition of the pool was absolutely DISGUSTING! So much mold and mildew on the deck, along with pieces of garbage and so much hair! It was so gross! The pool itself was just as bad. A lot of hair floating in the water, and you can see the floor of the pool had black dirt all over it! Especially in the corners, and the walls of the pool where the water level is was very yellow. We chose this hotel because it had a pool for the kids in the hot Canada Day weather, but I was totally DISGUSTED with the condition of the overall pool conditions. I'm very surprised the health board doesn't close it down!

Our experience was horrible. The room was dirty. Fridge and microwave were filthy. There were cherry pits under the bathroom sink. The pool was disgusting. Thermostat was flashing "check filter" and when I called front desk to tell them, they told me to ignore it! Not very reassuring. We checked out a night early and we're told it would be refunded but have since noticed that the Saturday night was only partially refunded. The owners didn't care about anything. In fact a woman at the desk told me "dont tell the rest of your group about checking out early or I'll charge you again! Worst experience of my life and if we didnt have out entire ball team there, we would have left on the first night!

I've never been to a more friendly hotel! They were so helpful. The man at the front desk even handwrote all the local taxi company's phone numbers out for me. They were so kind to my dog and I felt so welcomed. I was having a difficult day and really needed that so thank you!
