When in Kingston I always stay here. Great staff, great management, the rates are very reasonable and they include a decent breakfast in the morning. On a recent trip I didn't end up making my reservation and Melissa was very polite and credited my room back to me. Hard to find good service these days, you will however always find it here.

I reserved a specific ground-floor room with two beds for my parents (seniors with mobility and sleep issues, also CAA members) two weeks in advance. I called at 2pm on day of check-in (2018 July 17) and was assured by the desk manager that the room would be held for them until they arrived sometime around 9 or 10 pm. When we arrived, a second desk manager told us we had been moved to the second floor; no elevator. I told him this was unacceptable and that I expeted him to fulfill his obligation to us, even if it meant giving us two rooms for the same price. He said he could not do that; it was out of his hands. I invited him to give me the number of the persons whose hands it WAS in, so I could get the approval for him. He declined. He said he did not have any other ground floor rooms with two beds, as the hotel had been overbooked and the earlier desk manager did not notify him when his shift started at 3pm of the hotel's commitment to us so he gave our room away. I told him he had to do something to resolve it; perhaps he could use a corporate rate or something as I knew from experience these would be much more reasonable. In the end, my parents were placed in two separate rooms at opposite ends of the hall, and had to pay extra for the privilege. Very unimpressed with the service we received and we will not be patronizing Comfort Inn in future.

Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was above average; pastries, bread, cereal, fruit, omelette, sausage, waffles, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee and tea. It exceeded my expectations. However the room had a strange smell to it. Kind of like a wet towel smell. It wasn't the towels however, which smelled freshly bleached. The presentation of the towels in the bathroom was sloppy-- like they'd been hurriedly thrown over the rack. And there were splashes of what I assume was cleaning product on the wall of the shower. The heater/cooler wall unit was quite loud, which actually worked perfectly as white noise for us, but it didn't seem to respond to the thermostat changes. Overall, we got what we paid for. It was reasonably priced, and if you can overlook the odd smells then it was perfectly comfortable.

Very good place to stop on the road with pets. Not far from highway, comfortable entrance. Thanks!

Nice location, rooms were clean but could use updating. Staff were hard to locate when at the front desk
