Very clean hotel. Good value. Super friendly staff. Great location and not far from Blue Mountain. We are going back there the next visit to the area.

Horrible! My hubby booked this hotel as it was not as over priced as the other hotels in the Collingwood area on the Canada day long weekend. His first mistake was not checking reviews but he was just trying to do something romantic spontaneously and who can't love a guy who tries. First impression from the outside was that it was older. I tried to see the positives. I mean old doesn't always mean poorly kept. Wrong! The moment you walked inside the building you were assaulted by an unpleasant odour. Again, I thought to myself, maybe it's just in the corridor and maybe it will pass. Next, we had to ring a bell and waited for someone to attend the desk. I was surprised at how long that took. Then we were given our key and we check out our room. The room was dated through the carpet looked newer. Again, there was an unpleasant unidentifiable odour in the room. The bathroom had obviously been remodelled recently but I was confused as to why they didn't put a mirror in the bathroom. The room was very dark and the furniture was mismatched and tired looking. The outlet by the television (which was newer) had an additional wall outlet plugged into the original outlet and it had quite a number of plugs. I thought it looked like a fire hazard and it made me nervous. The only plus was that the mattress was comfortable but that didn't help us sleep any better. The air conditioner was very loud, so loud that you had to turn up the volume on the television to almost full volume just to hear the television. Not having the air conditioning on was not an option as it was 34c and was not expected to cool too much overnight. Sleep was almost impossible even with ear plugs. It was a night of constantly readjusting the ear plugs to try to block out some of the noise. I was worried that if I could hear the noise through the ear plugs then it might also damage my hearing. The next morning we could not get out of there quick enough. The original plan of staying two nights would not be possible. My hubby complained to the owner about the noise from the air conditioner and he asked for a refund for the night we were not staying because of noise. No apologies and no refund.

A surprisingly nice location to stay if you have any events at Blue Mountain. Cheap and clean. The only 2 requirements I had.

First of all. Hotel appearance : outdated Service : terriiiblllleeee My boyfriend and I arrived at 1AM after a late drive coming from out of the city. We had called the hotel to inform them that we were running late and the guy on the phone said that should be no problem at all. Not only are we tired and expect to get checked in right away, we arrive at the hotel and it was dark at reception with no body present. There was a bell, which I rang for service. No answer.... rang again. minutes later a women comes up in her PJs rubbing her eyes and looking tired but most importantly having an ANNOYED look. We say hi , are you tired ? And she said Ya. With a rude tone and started checking us in with no smile, no friendly customer interaction. We say thank you, she says “and it’s no smoking okay” we said okay np and I had asked if the room was this way(as I point in one direction) and she says “no smoking.” I’m like yes I know I heard you. Why did she say it twice after I told her I understood right away? I have no idea. Not that we smoke to even care about this. We enter our room, my boyfriend and I ALWAYS look under our bed to check for any bed bugs right away. We find some sort of dead bug just rested under the mattress in the corner. We took a picture and removed the bug. The next morning, I wake up early and head to the reception and rang for service. No answer. I see the woman in the breakfast room next door. I don’t understand how she didn’t hear this loud bell. I had kindly told her my concerns about this bug and had showed her the picture. She RIGHT AWAY got super defensive and said “oh no! That’s not bed bugs ! Come come. “ she brings me over to this other man(don’t know who he is) and he says oh no that’s ear wigs. That’s normal this time of year .... I’m sorry but I don’t care what the hell it is. It’s under my mattress ... and we sleep in this room. This is from poor housekeeping cleanliness. However , I had said okay that’s fine as long as they’re not bed bugs and they don’t keep coming I guess... I then get an email saying my credit card was not working with this hotel ... and I had two hours to fix it. By the time I had received this email and actually had read it seeing I was out trying to enjoy my vacation, it was passed two hours ... I did not get a chance to confirm that the numbers WERE CORRECT. However , we got back from our long day around 8pm to the hotel, rang the bell (of course receptionist is never to be found/ pretty sure she’s the housekeeper too) lady comes up, I inform her about my credit card , she replies “oh the manager isn’t here , we’ll figure it out after.” Then she so sneakily adds in “no smoking in the room”. We’re like ya we know? Why do you keep mentioning this?” She replies “ya no smoking. It smells. You are smoking. I see it” My boyfrienD and I were insulted and appalled by her accusations that we smoke in the room when we didn’t. My boyfriend had reminded her that we had already had told her we understood. We told her we didn’t smoke. She reinstated that we did.... my boyfriend had told her that she had already stated this TWICE the night before and that we don’t smoke. She says it again don’t smoke .. and walks away. So my boyfriend and I are furious on the accusations and the TERRIBLE service. We spot the manager after (they’re clearly all family). We told him what we’re being accused of. He says it smelt and you were smoking. Again we said we didn’t smoke in the room and this is accusations coming from no where. Then he says we have smoke detectors that detect smoking in the rooms ... first of all we’re not stupid. Then he changes his story and says oh well maybe you were “rolling”. Ohhhhh ok. So now we’re changing from litterally smoking to rolling. Now he’s talking about marijuana. My boyfriend got super defensive. Sadly somehow must’ve turned in to a racial profiling situation now. Managers excuses to defend himself was terrible. Overall. I’d recommend to go somewhere else. Save yourself the trouble.

Hotel is an older motel style property. Booking directly through their website and paying via PayPal - I still had to call the hotel directly to confirm my booking. On arriving at 6pm on a Saturday, there was a 15 minute wait before a staff member responded to the "ring for service" to process my check-in. Room was clean and tidy, but the amenities do show their age. No counters in the bathroom, all appliances and clocks unplugged, dated decour. The bedding appeared worn, the mattress quite firm, and the pillows fairly thin. If this was anywhere but the inflated rates of Collingwood, you would expect to pay half the nightly rate. My recommendation is that it's worth the few extra bucks to book a big name chain property... this hotel would be relegated to overbooked dates and the very budget conscious.
