This hotel is in a good location but do not book here without seeing the room you will be staying in. The photos posted by the hotel were deceptive. They showed a substantially better room that we received. (This hotel also serves as the local Greyhound station. Some of the reviews and ratings are for what it's like to wait here for a bus.) The pictures on the website showed a room with a desk, floor lamp and windows. The room we received was in the basement, without a desk, and a tiny dungeon-like window. About a third of the room was very dark without any way of making it brighter. It felt just like it was -- a somewhat damp basement room. The plastic mattress cover squeaked when we moved and felt unpleasant through the sheet. On one wall was what appeared to be an empty smoke detector bracket, but perhaps it was the base of a light fixture that was once there. Just so you know, the "free parking" in the description does not mean this hotel has a parking lot. One parks on the street and is subject to the city's parking regulations. Because there wasn't a desk in the room, I had to work in the lobby which has limited electric plugs, so I had the delightful experience of trying to work at a table shared by a non-guest who appeared to be either on drugs or suffering mental problems. It's nice that the hotel lobby is open to people with problems, but perhaps not so nice for the guests. It's possible that most of the nicer rooms here are occupied long-term. They might be okay, but there's no way to tell when booking online whether you will get the room advertised or whether you will be sent to the basement.

It was a nice place that wasn't too fancy. Basicallt it's a place to lay your head and sleep. They let us check in very early and we got 30 mins extra to checkout. The receptionist was very nice and funny and we enjoyed our stay.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was allowed to check in a little early and stay a little later. The hotel is nothing fancy, but it's all I needed...a clean, quiet place to sleep. If I need to stay in Woodstock again, I will stay here.

I've been here a few times and I've received nothing but amazing service. I was helped by Michelle who was awesome during my stays here. The hotel is clean and well run. Customer service at it's finest. Would definitely recommend. -Josh EG
