We needed an extra night and they called the manager on his day off and got us the extra night. Cleanliness ok to good. Service usually good although not always 100% nice to my mom. Those access cards always get demagnetized and you have to keep going back to the service desk to get new cards.

Just arrived today. Two people working front desk, neither of them acknowledged my presence. I left them to what they were doing however I was left to stand there feeling like a nuisance. Upon check in I wasn't provided any information. Where the pool is, the gym, breakfast hours, ice machine. Then I was handed my key without any help as to which side of the office my room was on. I am here for two weeks, however already thinking of switching hotels due to lack of customer service and pleasantness. Funny how after a senior walks in and gets all the information he needs without even asking. Also, fridge was unplugged and obviously not cold. Customer service is surely the most important thing in the hospitality industry, however its surely lacking here at the Sword Inn Bancroft. Also, fridge was unplugged and obviously not cold.

Clean spacious rooms and plenty of parking comes at great service cost. The front desk lady during the day was scrambling and bouncing frantically between customers as she mentioned there was no additional staff to help her. (It took almost an hour of waiting just for the room keys) she apologized and said she was the only person available to attend front desk as well as perform other duties like housekeeping, maintenance etc. (WHY?) Clearly management needs strong consideration in hiring some additional staff (and I'm sure there's lots of locals that could use employment) We had to go back to front desk twice because our room keys randomly would stop working as did friends in other rooms. The Wifi (when it does work) is hands down the weakest signal I have ever attempted to use at any hotel Ive stayed at. As mentioned in the review before mine, the shower head was antiquated and provided as much pressure as a slow running garden house. The pool was boiling hot and every single member of my family was struggling with the overkill amounts of chlorine (unbearable) Everyone was in agreeance that the front desk lady at night shift had a poor attitude. Theres nothing like driving 200km to Bancroft and not even getting a half decent reason why they denied a polite and punctual request for late checkout (we asked the night BEFORE) I wish I could give this establishment ZERO STARS.

The room was as expected, though quite possibly the worst showerhead out of any hotel I've stayed at. It might as well have been a pipe sticking out of the wall. The breakfast in the morning was basic, but fine.
