The hotel is in need of a ton of repairs. 8 floors with only 2 ice machines - one located on the second floor and one in the basement. Peeling wallpaper in hallways. Chipped bath tub. The air conditioner was broken, in late May. Claustrophobic bathroom with a sink/counter that protrudes , has sharp corners and is so close to the shower that it is a miracle that nobody smashed themselves on it getting in and out of the shower. I definitely will not stay there again.

Cheapest rate you'll find downtown, and while it's an older hotel that needs some upgrading, it is extremely clean, the staff are super friendly and helpful, and you can't beat the location! Steps from great restaurants, spas and transit. I would stay there again anytime!

Good and cheap hotel in one of the most expensive areas in Toronto. The rooms are old but they're clean, they should remodel. The staff is the best thing in this place!

Rustic look to the room. Upgraded to business class and we'll worth it. Room was very spacious. The hotel itself could use some maintenance work but overall the staff was excellent, continental breakfast, and WiFi had no issues. The front door is secured and you need swipe access to gain entry, which is good because it deters prostitution. Best bang for your buck especially for the area!

Good budget place. The whole building is somewhat run-down, with many minor and cosmetic repairs needed. However, the price was good, the staff wonderful, and the room entirely satisfactory, especially for the price. Again, some minor repairs needed in the room, but all expected facilities (HVAC unit, mid-size TV with cable, coffee maker) worked fine, and the room was properly cleaned. Linens were nice and also clean, bed very comfortable, and curtains were heavy enough to sleep in full daylight. View was obstructed but nice. Bathroom was tiny but fully-stocked and -equipped, and, again, properly cleaned. Parking is underground and doesn't come with room. Single elevator for whole building can mean a bit of a wait. Overall, a solid room for a good price for the budget traveler. Could be lovely if owners put in nearly as much effort as the excellent staff.
