Definitely beautiful scenery. Staff was friendly. The pool was mostly clean (no algae) but cold (Def not heated). The rooms were clean, but the dishes/pots were greasy. The doors didn't close right (stripped screws barely holding the hinges) and the a/c wasn't working without some fiddling on our part. The docks by the lake weren't anchored. Some of the facilities clearly showing wear and tear, but the grass was cut. No little shampoos, but several tiny bars of soap. One ply TP. Dish soap was in the cupboard but I'm not sure if it was left behind or provided (fairly large bottle, we left it when we left). Not sure what the state of the place will be in the future, but for now it's alright. I'm just glad the temp had cooled off enough that the ac being hit and miss wasn't terribly uncomfortable. Parking is right outside your door but the lake is a set of stairs down with rickety handholds. If you like a view of tall trees and the lake, and aren't picky about a warm room/freezing pool, this is not a bad place to stay for a few days.

The man that for some may come across as abrupt, is Johnny. Johnny is Korean and has worked hard all his life to build a life in Canada for his family. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago when my friends from Toronto were staying at The Pinedale. Susan and her family try to go there every year. Although he may have a strong accent, he has no problem communicating, just give him the respect he deserves. He has a beautiful place and works hard to maintain it that way. His son speaks very good English, if all else fails. If you meet Joyce, she is very nice too.

Good things first: our room was clean and the view on the lake was nice. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there was a power failure. Unlike the neighbouring houses, the motel does not have a backup generator. Therefore, we had no power, no hot water and no wifi during our stay. Since we booked over Expedia, the owner was not willing to give us a reduction on the previously determined price. After long negotiations, he reduced the price by 15 CAD, which we found a very small discount considering the discomfort. Also: we told the owner that we would like to check out early (7am) to which he replied we should just come knocking at the reception. When we did, he was still sleeping. We spent over two hours knocking to get him awake and be able to pay for the room. Never again.

Very happy with our visit here. Nicely renovated room, comfortable and spacious. Great view, very clean.

Got a newly renovated room that was great value for the price. Great place to stay.
