I cannot say enough good things about this place and the owners. This is far more than a traditional motel. The owners have the rooms spotless and comfortable and they bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommended. My friends and I hope to be back!

First weekend of the season; planning to open up the cottage. Wind storm! No electricity and damp cold cottage. Friday evening. Had my 96 year old mother with me. Renata at Oakwood was not merely accomodating and efficient, but extremely kind. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. Everything we required was close at hand. We had a Guardian Angel today and her name is Renata.

Friendly staff and very clean room with parking right in front of our room. Air conditioner worked very well and we had a very comfortable stay. Not very fancy, but cleaner than some hotels I've stayed in.

The staff are nosey and passive aggressive. They feel the need discern personal details about previous guests, including their ethnicity. They will approach customers and make awkward conversation at all times when a simple wave would suffice, making it very difficult to relax. And they will enter a guest's room while they are absent without cleaning, making it fairly obvious that they're snooping through their things. There is uncomfortable signage throughout the rooms which may be interpreted by some as joke, but read as offensive and vaguely racist threats. The rooms have a strange smell about them, and finally the doors do not have deadbolts, assuring that you cannot lock the door from the inside. This is both illegal and incredibly easy to rectify. Overall. The experience was uncomfortable, and caused my friends and I to feel awkward and unsafe.

There are passive aggressive signs all over the room (since we are no longer allowed to cut off people's hands, don't steal the towels) which make you feel unwelcome. The staff are nosey and butt into your conversations if you are sitting outside and they enter your room even if the do not disturb sign is displayed. There are no deadbolts on the door, nor a latch on the inside.
