DO NOT STAY OR HERE OR LEAVE YOUR CAR HERE. Having just returned from vacation, we found our car broken into and belongings stolen. The break-in happened 10 days before we returned. Not only did the hotel not bother to contact us to let us know about the incident, they didn’t even have the courtesy to have the window replaced. Nothing like landing after a 10 hr flight to find your car broken into, glass all over the child seat in the back, and then have to wait a few hours for the window to replaced, only to find out that I have to pay ($500) to have the window replaced and will then also have to pay to have the car detailed, as there is still broken glass in the car.
The hotel was “generous” to let us stay here tonight, since the window didn’t get replaced until 11:45, but I had to pay for my dinner. Oh, and it looks like I’m still getting charged for the initial stay—you know, the one during which the break-in happened.
When asked why they didn’t contact us to let us know about the incident, the manager told me he didn’t have our contact info. We are Marriott Awards Members—surely at least our email address is on file.
We usually love Marriott, but this has been an absolutely awful experience.
