This place is the epitome of cash cow property owner mentality. Nothing is well maintained and safety is a bare minimum. Strangers from the streets appear in the hallways via the fire escape. There are barely any staff working. No security except for the ONE a staff member working front desk over night. Very unsettling. Elevator malfunctions regularly and Is very SMALL so opt for the stairs or get a room on the lower levels of you HAVE to stay here. Staff is friendly and helpful but the owners clearly have a minimal expense attitude toward the property. Water leaks from roof on top floor and seeps behind walls. Air conditioner units are loud and also malfunction often. It's too bad because it could have been an amazing place if just a little more effort and money were put into the place. But the owners know that the location sells itself so I doubt that will ever happen. Security is the major concern here. The owners cheap out on making one staff member act as the manager, maintenance worker, and concierge all at the same time. An additional staff member would be helpful to reduce unwanted intruders and keep a more secure presence about the place. When we stayed here the young girl working front desk was just as terrified as we were that a strange man kept breaking in through the fire escape without much difficulty (doors were not locked and only thing that we or the staff working could do was threaten to call the police). Not really my idea of professionalism. Isabella is a charming old building with lots of potential. Sadly it is owned and operated by a family who operate and upkeep the place with the absolute minimum amount of effort and expenditure. A shame because the staff working alone there were excellent in apologizing and compensating us for the mistakes and mismanagement of the property by the owners. Just goes to show how important it is to have good management and adequately staffed shifts. 1 star for the staff. But that's all

Good location within walking distance of the Falls and within easy reach of restaurants and pubs. The hotel is a bit dated and needs refurbishment. The pool is okay water warm and was clean. The sauna was okay but not very hot. Room clean and tidy just old fittings. Air conditioning not very good. Bed comfortable. Breakfast not bad but plastic cutlery and paper plates and dishes. No butter just margarine or Philadelphia! Staff quite friendly and accommodating.

Decent Hotel, nothing too bad about it, you are getting what you pay for. Serves it's purpose. I'd come back when I need just a bed to sleep in.

Loved it! the hotel is in a great spot, close to subway and busses. Tim Horton's is across the street. the service from the front desk clerk Sara was second to none. She was super helpful and very friendly, couldn't ask for more. I was in quite a large room and it was excellent, very clean and quiet. Appreciated the free breakfast in the morning and the in room coffee was great. Thanks again to Sara for the awesome service, she is a lot of the reason this is a 5 star review, certainly the room was not shabby either!
