Looks like my original review was removed. I brought visitors from the US here on Thanksgiving Day for lunch. It was the most disgusting meal Ive ever been served. Was told we needed a reservation but when we arrived there were only 2 other tables occupied.had to wait an hour for our lunch. Mistakes on 3 of 4 orders and the food tasted awful. Grilled chicken was so dry it was hard to chew. And the windows were so dirty and full of spider webs it was hard to see the beautiful view. The best part of it was when the chef arrived as we were leaving he comped the meal.

This Inn was AMAZING!!!! My cousin got married at the Inn right by the water. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was simply delicious and big. I would go back in a heartbeat. The rooms have a rustic charm, and beds are to die for!!!! Go for a night but you will stay for 2!!!

We were moved to this hotel after the hotel we originally booked had an issue. We were put in the main building. I called to ask for early check in as we came for a wedding and was told there was a flight of stairs and no elevator. I told the person on the phone we have a baby and was it possible to be placed elsewhere and we were told no. Every other hotel in the area was fully booked so we stayed with this hotel. The wifi was intermittent, the room was freezing, run down, hot water was intermittent, and we got the impression that when the manager of the other hotel called to book us there that they just shoved us in whatever was available in terms of room. All of this could be overlooked however, because we were really just there to sleep after a wedding with our six week old baby. When we came back at 9pm there was live music in the lobby and to our unpleasant surprise it was also in our room. I called the front desk and was told there was “nothing they could do” and the music ended at 11. My screaming child did not appreciate this. The entire time we were there and every interaction we had with the front desk staff was poor. They just don’t understand guest service. Upon check out they asked how my stay was and I spoke to the manager- trust me when I tell you she didn’t give a sh**. I sat on the couch and she stood over me. When I explained to her why we were mad she looked at our bill and offered to waive the $15 tip we left the dining staff off our room charges as that was the only thing we had paid for since the original hotel we were booked at was paying for our room. The dining staff was polite friendly professional and gracious and the brunch was outstanding. I declined to have the tip removed from my bill because I wasn’t about to short the only people in the hotel doing their jobs properly. We were not offered any additional compensation, and on top of that she promised to send me a guest satisfaction survey which got sent to the original hotel who booked us in as our reservation was made under their information. I had requested the GM follow up with me and I have yet to hear from them - the guest services manager told me that it “wasn’t the GM’s job” to follow up on customer complaints so I doubt I ever will. I would recommend the restaurant, but would never recommend the hotel. This hotel is also not accessible or suitable for anyone with small children. Just skip it and stay at Samuel’s down the road instead.

Benmiller Inn is a 5* plus plus historical Inn hidden a few kilometers from Goderich. It consists of beautifully appointed rooms in historical buildings such as the Mill house and River Mill buildings and others. Pool is located in the River Mill building. Main building has 5* Dining room and other lovely rooms. Our dinners were all superb!! My beef tenderloin was grilled to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Dining room is open to the Public. Service and rooms are excellent. I highly recommend you take time to explore and enjoy this Inn. Also has Spa services.
