Very clean facility, very friendly staff. Excellent costumer service. Reasonable and affordable prices. Very good homemade food , we really enjoyed our stay with our 18 months old daughter . I don't eat pork and they made me chicken for supper. Very nice and big lake. Would recommend it to anyone.

Not having been to a fishing resort / lodge for over almost two decades, I didn't really know what to expect. I do believe that this lake has a lot of fish. It was just the time of the year that there was a lot of weeds making it difficult to catch fish for a non-seasonal angler like myself. Can't and shouldn't compare this to a mainstream resort as this is fishing specialty resort. Rick the owner is certainly very knowledgeable and experienced. He will point you to the exact location and technique to catch a fish. My teenage daughter caught a 4 pounder. For service, you simply can't ask for more. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Everything was super attentive. They even serve decaf coffee for an old folk like me who can't sleep after 2 cups of coffee in the morning. Very detail oriented. The only advice I will give is to bring your own shampoo.

Great staff, great lodge, great atmosphere! Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the dock master. The Poplars went above and beyond to help solve a problem with my boat's motor. The problem threatened to end our trip after one day. The lodge owner contacted Sand Lake Marine and was able to get me a same day appointment. While my boat was under repair, The Poplars provided me with a boat for the cost of fuel so my friends and I could continue to enjoy our vacation while my boat was repaired. Thank you!

Joan and Rick White were a blessing to us. We had accommodations at another place and when we arrived found it deplorable and decided not to stay. We went into Newboro and stopped at the Poplars Lodge. We told them of our predicament and they were able to accommodate us for 4 days on the spot and supply us with a boat and motor. The accommodations were very good and the food excellent. The view from our porch of the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and made some new friends. Joan, Rick and the entire staff were delightful. We will definitely be making reservations to stay there again. Yvonne and Gary Raffensperger, Pennsylvania
