Located very close to downtown Cobourg, this is a lovely restored Greek revival house with antique furniture in each room. High ceilings, spacious centre hall staircase and grand bedrooms. Wonderful breakfasts. Also, owner Cathryn is a professional caterer and special dinners can be arranged in advance. Perfect for a romantic getaway weekend.

Excellent breakfast! Then the house has the historic appeal of a century home. Rooms are comfortable and warm ; clean and well supplied....and the two cats are awesome.

MacKechnie House is a little gem situated on 3/4 of an acre in Cobourg. The 1840s Greek Revival house is one of the town’s oldest buildings. It offers guests the choice of 3 spacious rooms filled with antiques of an era gone. Located just minutes from downtown and the waterfront, unlike a hotel, MacKechnie House offers a private “at home”, comfy atmosphere. Having viewed all three rooms, we found the bedrooms to be spacious and beautifully furnished in keeping with the 1880s theme of the home. With rooms starting as low as $115.00 a night, we found MacKechnie House, to offer accommodations to suit most budgets. If ultimate privacy is what you are seeking though, then we highly recommend the Gatsby room out of the 3 rooms. It also offers a back porch for use, which is useful if you are a smoker. We stayed here in 2013, and once time allows we can not wait to return. Good value for the money, friendly hospitality, and a wonderful breakfast- what's not to love?
