We had camped for 3 nights previous to heading into Austin. We needed a refuge. We had never heard of Roberts RiverWalk Hotel and Residence Detroit,. We walked in & somehow got the last room available. It was too good to be true. Carrie & Cassie are the best. They each made us feel at home. Honestly it was the most comfortable I have ever felt at a small hotel. The rooms are spacious, best shower ever, & the common area is great. This place is it. All other hotels will be held against my experience at Roberts RiverWalk Hotel and Residence Detroit,. We'll be back!

The hotel is in an amazing location and should easily demand 5 stars. I found the staff to be one of its best assets as the are extremely helpful and more than willing to try and make you stay enjoyable, however they seem to be understaffed making it neatly impossible for them provide that truly amazing service. The rooms were large but dated. The carpet needs to be cleaned or replace, the toilet would rock back and forth as you tried to use it, the toiletries where not replenished and the windows needed to be cleaned both in and out. The hotel has a restaurant with excellent food but not enough help to provide good service and was not open until after 8:00 in the morning during the week.

This place is an older building. It's pretty basic. I picked a room with a view of the river walk. That was pretty nice. It's not the greatest hotel out there, but it's not the worst, either. The pool is kinda small, but they have little cabanas you can get, it looked like it was first come, first serve. There are a few spots to eat nearby that were pretty cool. Andrew's on the Corner was definitely a chill little bar.

The service was awful! When we arrived we were told if we took our car to leave again there may not be a parking spot left for us as there was a free Jazz concert on the river that night. Our room was wide open, moderately clean but no towels, toilet paper, tissues nor a way to lock the safe. We were charged a “resort” fee there is NOTHING about this hotel that makes it a resort. The best thing we can say is we had a river view room so that was nice. Wanted to talk to the manager upon checkout but was told she wasn’t there yet and that she was 2 hours late for work today. RIDICULOUS

Nope. The place need a lot of work. Such a shame. The building is so beautiful and the location is prime. I knew I didn't want to stay as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. Broken car window glass, huge potholes and terribly paved parking conditions. I decided to go ahead and give it a shot since I had already paid, but I knew I couldn't stay when I discovered they didn't offer AC! The rooms were small and stinky with old, OLD mattresses and linens. The clientele were loud and obnoxious. Nope never again. I decided to take the loss and went to another hotel.
