I stayed at Hotel Y Montreal for 2 nights on my own for a concert in July. I chose this hotel because it was very close to the Bell Centre, it was relatively affordable, and it had great reviews. Honestly Hotel Y probably exceeded my expectations. I wasn't sure what to expect since the hotel is a part of YWCA (the proceeds go towards that organization too). It is on the 7th floor of the building. My room was very very clean and had all the basics you'd expect in a hotel room--small fridge, coffee maker with coffee, TV, etc. The service at the reception was very good and pleasant. I really can't of any complaints. It was perfect as a homebase/accommodation for when you are out and about in the city all day. I also recommend the cafe on the ground floor of the building--it was excellent.

Hotel was fine for what you pay but parking is on the street, the reception desk told us. What they didn't tell us (wether because they didn't know or forgot to tell us or just didn't tell us -- all of which is bad) is that you will get a ticket ($62) if you don't know/find/see of a sign that overrides all the other signs that otherwise allow you to park for the night, till 9 am. Any local cop or parking attendant will tell you what that sign is and what it says. But as out of towners, we didn't stand a chance.

Nice cozy place, it's cheap and it's at a great location. The staff is super friendly

Excellent, clean rooms with lots of space. Great location downtown with lots of restaurants and shopping options in near proximity.
