Filthy room. Period. Upon opening the door, we saw that the room had not been vacuumed, so the nice young lady at the desk came and did it, including the edges, which were long overdue. The tub was grimy and contained hair. The base of the toilet was caked with pee and hair, with a wad of Kleenex thrown behind. The ceiling fan looked like it was growing fur, had to dust it ourselves so it didn't land on the bed. Every other surface had a layer of dust. The A/C unit was full of dust, as we're the window sills. The freezer was unusable and caked with ice, as the door was broken off, and the fridge full of sticky spills. Finally, it looked like someone puked off the side of the bed because the mattress had a disgusting stain. Had my husband not been I'll, we would have just driven home and taken the $100 loss. GROSS.

If your willing to spend the cash to stay here then you have the money to stay a better place. Way over priced

Many of the reviews here describe the MOTEL experience...GOLDEN GATE also offers week by week and month by month rates...this is particularly pleasant for someone with a short term project in the area. Joan, runs a tight ship...keeping the needs of longer term lodgers and over-nighter's needs met at the same time. My Son presently calls the place his home, as a MILLENIAL...he appreciates the good use of space, ALL INCLUDED convenience, and walking/biking distance to the night life and cultural events in PLATTSBURGH, NY or across the lake in BURLINGTON, VT. The short term arrangement can allow him to travel and with good timing...have a home to come home to afterward...near to MOTHER!

Very friendly reception, helpfull too! Nice little spot, right on the beach. Room was ok, actually convenient with a kitchenette. Room #73 needs a good cleaning, especially the ceiling fan, yark. Guess the cleaning crew did not see the moldy coffee grains in the coffee maker.....The bed was clean and comfy. The room had everything we needed, we will go back, good value for the money.

This is on Lake Champlain. Beautiful view of the sandy beach.Alot of Social Service clients live there. Big issues with drugs. This place needs updating. A pool or hot tub to get better clients.
