I'm new and wanted to ask a question. No one was able to simply ask me or engage me. I understand you were with customers but that was over five minutes and a simple acknowledgement or do you have a quick question

Excellent selection of grains and fermentables. They don't have as large a variety of yeasts as I would like. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good service.

I like this place for their wine kits, but I love them for their grain, hops a yeast selection. Really, I suppose I just like to make beer, but they really do know their stuff and I don't know of any other retail outfit that sells beer making supplies locally ... maybe there are other options, but since these guys are so good, I haven't bothered to look.

I started on my new brewing hobby about 6 weeks ago and discovered The Vineyard. I have been to the store several times and spent around 600$ with them. Alas my last visit though will be my last. The service from the male sales assistants has been positive. But there is one woman who works there I can only think has some form of personality issue when it comes to customer service. A male sales assistant called my on Friday to tell me my new C02 tank had arrived (good service). I said I would pop in an hour later to pick it up. I entered the store and recognized the sales guy who had called me by his voice. I spoke with him, mentioned he had called me and said I was there to pick up my new C02 tank. He was serving me and 2 other customers at the time. The female sales assistant was hovering behind him staring at me. He placed the new tank on the counter and was about to take my card when the female assistant server looked at me like I had just crawled out from under a rock and shouted in a loud angry voice “Well what’s your name !!!!! We have many others waiting for C02 !!!!”. The sales guy serving me looked embarrassed and the other 2 customers stopped in their tracks. The sales guy looked at her and said he knew why I was there as he had called me and continued to take my card. She continued her angry rant to me saying “We would need to know your name !!! You are not the only one wanting to pick up C02 !!!”. I looked at her and said “OK”. I finished paying for my tank while her male colleague explained the refills to me as she just stood behind him looking angry at me. The atmosphere was toxic at this point. I am a 47 year father of 2 and am pretty thick skinned but I was extremely embarrassed, angry and annoyed at her behavior toward me. You certainly do not expect this awful treatment as a customer. I assume she is a part owner of the Vineyard as it if it was my Business she would be gone in an instant. The whole thing is just sad. Home Brewing, I am learning fast, is a community and you want to find a store that is friendly, will work with you through this journey and connect with you as its part of the fun. I have a high disposable income for this hobby and I will be spending it elsewhere from now on. I do not recommend The Vineyard and will look to another store to help feed my new hobby.
