Go wine tasting on a Saturday afternoon and you'll be serenaded by a brilliant live accordion player. He does not disappoint! Same goes for the apple wine.

My wife and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in Ladner and decided to visit on a whim. It was an amazing experience. Great host. Great location. Lots of other local loyal customers to chat with. A real community feeling. And the fruit wine? All so good and so different. We had a hard time deciding on what to buy! I liked the apple and blackberry but my wife liked the red current and strawberry. Such an awesome experience.

I'm admittedly not a wine expert, but I'm very impressed. I didn't think blueberry wine would be so good! The vineyard itself and the land of neighbouring farms is SO beautiful and green. We couldn't believe the drive as soon as we hit the island. The owner told us there's a bird sanctuary next door. We'll be back!

I feel bad writing this as I enjoy supporting local business and used to love coming out here when it was Westham Island Winery. It was always a regular pit stop for our out of town visitors. Today was my first time back since it changed hands. The reek of inexperience was evident right away. The gentleman was nice and eager to please but the wine, which was described to us as "dry", was in fact very acidic and almost undrinkable. We tried several varieties and only one was ok- but DEFINATELY not good value. While the prices at Westham were a moderate $20-35 and the product, though not perfect, was mainly made up of nice patio sippers. With Angel Estate you are looking at $33+. You don't even see those starting prices at the best Okanagan wineries and when you do pay $40+ for a product, there's a reason for it. I really do feel bad for the new owners as they were clearly out of their depth and I sincerely hope that they can turn it around.
