It isn't a winery but a tasting room for wines produced further south. Besides their own wines they had a decent selection of wines produced elsewhere. That was a nice touch. My wife and I attended a wine tasting class. While my wife was really happy with the class I found it heavy handed in promoting their wines and smaller wineries (okay) but light on tasting skills and wine making backround, essential to tasting in general, any wines anywhere. Well, my wife loved it and I love my wife, 4.3 to 4.7 stars. Okay, five.

The view is nice on the back porch but not the best compared to other vineyards in the area. The property is nothing to write home about and somewhat underwhelming if you've been to other vineyards. Where this vineyard sets itself apart is with the wine. We did the wine boot camp which greatly exceeded our expectations. It was led by the owner, Carl, who was entertaining and a great educator on all things wine. We learned about ordering wine at restaurants, food pairings, proper aeration and so much more. On paper it was supposed to be 2 hours but we were sampling wine for almost three hours and probably tried 15 wines in total. I lean more toward IPAs and bourbon but this class increased my appreciation for wine and increases my ability to make informed eine decisions. Carl and the rest of the staff were excellent as we hung around after the class to ask questions. What sets this class apart is Carl's desire to teach you about good wine from all over the world instead of pushing their wine (it is not until the very end of the class that we actually were given a tasting of his wine).

I wouldn’t waste my time coming here. When I walked in there was an overwhelmingly strong, bad odor (like vomit) and it made me want to immediately walk out. They are proud to share wines from around the world but I think if they tried harder to make the wine they produce taste better they wouldn’t have to travel the world to find good wine.

Carl and Donna provided a class on pairing cheeses with wines for our local American Wine Society chapter and every one of our members left feeling like they had a wonderful experience, having learned exciting stuff about both cheese and wine that we had not heard anyplace else. They put on a great show and are a lot of fun to be around!

So, we are members there, because it is such a great wine club. Small space, but excellent wines, and knowledgeable and friendly staff.
