As a wine enthusiast that has been around Maryland, PA, and Virginia exploring wineries, Elk run is our favorite winery to go to on a regular basis. It feels like home, beautiful views and the wine vastly surpasses any wineries in the area. The Gewurztraminer is sweet yet subtle, just the best. The cab is amazing as well. You will not regret stopping by.

This winery is a hidden gem. They've definitely put their energy into the wine (rather than their facilities like some of their neighbors) and it shows. Their wines consistently win international competitions, and their Pinot Noir is made in a Burgundian style that is hard to find in the U.S. I've got several of their Cabernet Francs and Cabernet Sauvignons in my cellar aging. I also love their Gewurztraminer and Riesling!

I was not a fan of this place. We barely finished one wine before we were rushed onto the next one. The whole tasting took less than ten minutes and then we went outside to sit. Prior to making the reservation, we asked about food - they said they did have food for sale. Turns out, food was just cheese and crackers.
