We had such a lovely experience at this location and exceptional service from Todd and Emily. The food was great and the wine list left little to desire. We also had our little pup with us and even though it got busier they didn’t fail to keep tabs on us and make sure our all of our needs were taken care of. We’ll definitely be back.

We came in for dinner and the restaurant was moderately busy. We waited around 20 minutes for a host / hostess to greet us and they immediately found us a table. It took another 25 minutes before our waitress made her first appearance at the table. We missed Happy Hour by 10 minutes and they refused to honor it even though we had been at the restaurant for 45 minutes. The food was decent and the wine was not great. The wine they make is overpriced ($13 a glass). There are wines you can purchase by the bottle that blow their wine away. I don't plan on going back.

I’m so upset and saddened at the same time with this place. My sister and I were visiting Virginia Beach area and were recommended to visit this particular winery. However, I believe we were victims of discrimination. This was our second day visiting and thought we would be treated with welcoming gestures. I come from retail background so I know how imperative it is to know how to obtain clients and also keep them. Instead this place drove us away. We would never return! The discrimination came about when they had a sale on particular wines and told us the sale didn’t start u til 4 o’clock however Todd was selling and advertising the same sale menu to caucasians. I come from a Hispanic background however I would never treat anybody different because of the color of their skin! I do want to give a token of appreciation to the owner Jennifer Eichert who had happened to have been there and who thought the whole situation was absurd and apologized and took our feedback. Thank you!

Mermaid Winery has good wine and food. While I may not be very wine educated, I enjoyed the glasses I had while I was there. The food was good however I do take issue with paying $16 for a burger and it not having a side. The burger was good, but no knock your socks good for $16. And how are you going to have a burger on the menu but no side? Not even a bag of ships. I would come back but would make sure to eat beforehand.

One of my favorite places in Norfolk. The wine selection is great. The happy hours and wine club member specials are awesome. The food is delicious and I absolutely love the brunch. In addition the staff is always very knowledgeable about the wine and food and they are attentive and personable.
