Wow, this place has come a long way since we visited about 5 years ago! My wife and I decided to do a tasting when we visited today. The tasting room is large and bright with access to the outdoors and adjacent vines. We were able to taste 5 wines - each a generous pour and all delicious. There is also a cafe serving lunch next to the tasting area and a separate dining room open for dinner. Highly recommended.

A rainy Sunday on Memorial Day Weekend meant this place was PACKED. The good thing was they had the capacity and systems in place to handle it, and we got a tasting quickly and easily. The winery is large and well done in general. There's quite a few tasting areas, a little restaurant, and a snack stand. On the day we were there, they had live music and we were led to a tasting bar right next to the tanks in the winery itself. The experience was nice and all of the staff were very friendly. Tastings cost $15 each, which is steep to begin with, but you get to keep your glass afterwards if you'd like. You get 5 decent pours of wines of your choice for the tasting. While the wines were good, none of them really stood out to me as contenders for favorites. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed them and picked up a bottle of the Island White to go. Overall, a fun experience and a nice winery visit for a rainy Sunday.

First time at a winery, it was very nice. They have a ton of wines, and a bar that serves beer etc for those who don't mess around with wine. Their stuff is very good and not super expensive. They had a a farmers market the day I went which was cool. Wish they had more food options besides restaurant.

Walk in and sign up for the tasting. You will want to try as many of their options as possible because they are all good. I'm not a white wine person, but I enjoyed all the white wines I tried. Not into wine, no problem, give Taproot a try. Order a flight and you will find something you love. I was happy to see a new brewery serving something other than IPA's. I also tried the charcuterie board at the bar and it was tasty, but left me wanting more.

Went to the wine tasting. They have a number of house wines that are fabulous! The staff is really friendly. Next time I vacation in Newport, I will definitely return!
