This is a friendly and professional shop. I only needed a house key copied, but it was one that key copy machines had repeatedly failed to replicate properly. There were more staff than customers when I walked in so I was helped right away. They made sure to tell me the (very reasonable) price up-front, and I got my key in a minute or two. It works just fine.

i upgraded my home's locks to a "high security" type lock, and they were incredibly helpful and professional through the whole process. I've been in to the shop many times, and always get excellent service. i wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, even my own mom. :)

my wife and i had jesse and michael out to hang seven internal doors w/all new hardware in our post-remodel house... they were prompt, professional and friendly, and were done with all seven in about three hours! the doors are perfectly hung and the new locksets look and work great. i would definitely recommend sam mateo lock works to a friend.

Damaged my door while installing a lock set I purchased from them. Paid $178 for a professional installation job. Tape was not applied when the hole was enlarged to fit so the wood came off between the deadbolt and handle set. When called they indicated four different ways it was my fault and my problem. Won't patch it, won't hire someone to patch it, and won't take it off and reinstall except at great cost.
