Key.Me has so much potential. It is the only app I know that will allow a key to be printed without needing the key physically present at the kiosk. Take a picture of the key using your app and it's stored within the app to be printed whenever, wherever, but there are a few caveats. Thr first time you order any individual key, you must order it for delivery via mail (don't worry, your address is never stored on their servers), costing more than most key duplication services do (and more than it would to copy the key directly at the kiosk, which would bypass the need to ship it the first time it's copied). This was a problem when I lost my mail key because i couldn't retrieve it without help from Customer Service who was delightful. Anyway, there is usually a very nice selection of keys at the kiosk and you can view availability in the app if you have a preference or just order through the app. Everything is mostly straightforward. If you have a physical key to copy at the kiosk you can login and store it (which is usually more accurate than using the app photos method), and if you only have a copy in the app, you can print it at the kiosk by logging in and verifying your account using your smartphone. It is all very secure, very handy, just not always convenient and not the most cost effective. If you've locked yourself out obviously this is a great solution, but for everyday key duplication it can be kind of a hassle. I've only had one key that was not capable of being copied (not because it said do not duplicate, but because they didn't have a blank that would match). I've been satisfied 3 of 5 times. Still will use.
