Saw the KeyMe vendor in a Safeway store and since I needed a key I figure I would try it out. It did what it said it would do and was happy. So I tried to get a car key maid, and it said it would have to ship it to me. Wish they would have said that in the beginning. All in all if you need a simple key made give this a try And if you want an extra car key and if you can wait for it will work too.

The kiosk was simple to use and worked as advertised. It very quickly made a duplicate key that works well.

I called to ask for an out the door price for the locksmith to open the car door of a 1999 Ford Contour (no alarm, no special features and I did this for 2 years, I only lack the tools). I received a price guarantee of $19 for the service call and $25 for the unlocking fee. I asked for confirmation of the price. They stated that was confirmed. When the technician came out here he tried to scam us and order a service fee of $119.

It's not actually any quicker than asking for help at a hardware store, and it's much much more expensive. Each key is $7, if you pick the absolute cheapest option. Also you're stuck between a lotto card machine and a customer service line in the Safeway, which is uncomfortable.
