I was referred to Lakeside Financial Planning by a friend (although my mom has been going there for years and I should have just listened to my mother!), and it's one of the first times that I really felt like the person on the other side of the desk *listened* to me and the things I wanted. For example, I've always been interested in sustainable and responsible investing, but when I've asked others in the past, I've been shot down and told that "there's not enough money in that", which was never the point anyway. However, Darcy (who is amazing) was able to show me options that not only fit what I was looking for, but were clearly financially successful! He patiently explained everything and helped me to understand which options were right for *my* wants and needs. They also offer a complete package of service, like behavioural cash-flow planning (which is like budgeting, except it works) and long-term financial planning and modeling. Again, this sets them apart from other places I've been to. I would *highly* recommend these folks, and Darcy in particular, especially if finances make you nervous or you really have no idea what you're doing (like me).

After having a baby last year, I wasn't sure where to start with savings and RESPs, as well as balancing basic household bills and investing for retirement. Darcy Knight helped tremendously and even found a mutual fund I'm excited about - not a string of words I ever thought I'd say and yet here we are! The staff are always helpful and exceedingly friendly, the parking is free, and the office is located conveniently in the South Pandosy area of the lower Mission.
