H&R Block

If I could give no stars I would. I dealt with Laurie, who not only seemed like she had no clue about doing taxes, she was also extremely rude and unprofessional. My taxes were here for a month and when I finally called in after 3 weeks to see what was going on it was mentioned there was a note on my file - I wondered why noone had called when there were notes about questions THEY had. How long had it been sitting there? Not to mention the questions were information they already had. We were told our return was going to be a certain amount at first....then they said they would work on it like they could magically move numbers? Well somehow the numbers changed and we fortunately had less that we owed. I finally got to meet Laurie and when I did I had a few questions about my file and she did what seemed to be her best for her level of expertise, which was not what I felt to be par given I asked for a senior tax professional. I felt she was irritated about how I asked for further details on things about my partners file - she made snide remarks about his income and contributions. She was clearly not fit for the customer service industry as she tossed my papers across the table to me and said "I am sick of you people." Being a person of minority/colour I felt that it was absolutely unacceptable. I requested her card, she did not have one. She gave me the stores card, and as I reached for the pen to ask for her name she moved it away from me. So i reached for one in the pen jar, and requested her name. She did not kindly give it to me. I asked if I could have her last name or employee number or something so that I could identify her when I file my complaint. She refused to give me her last name. I felt totally upset when I left her office. I asked the receptionist who I could speak to with respect to a complaint, she provided me with the number. I will proceed to file a complaint because this is not professional in any way.

No idea what they're doing. All my taxes I've had done here have been super screwed up. I don't know where they find these people. skip.

H&R block ups their prices without really telling anyone, and then has their accountants wait until AFTER filing your info to tell you what the new outragous price is, so you are forced to pay it. Totally shady. Good job H&R block. I wont be returning.
