Regarding Kawasaki ATV
I brought my machine in to this repair shop early in the spring with a battery charging issue. The engine would operate but not re-charge the battery.
I was patient, but he seemed to be fixing everyone else’s machine but mine. After 7 weeks of it being at his shop he admitted he could not fix it….and he delivered it back to my home AFTER I paid him his invoice of $587.60 otherwise I could not get my ATV back.
I read what he said he did…..
My ATV went in with a battery charging issue and came out with the same problem PLUS it is now blowing the main fuse from the stator and the spark plug would not seat properly. These were not problems when it went into the shop.
Very clearly he stated and charged me for the removal and installation of a new stator. NOT TRUE !!!!!!
After getting my ATV back I had to bring it to another repair shop who knew what they were doing. I asked about the “new” stator. They told me the original was still in the machine. None of the access bolts or other parts required to replace the stator had been touched. They still had dirt etc on them from years of operation. If the bolts were removed and re-installed they would be clean.
I asked for and received pictures of the original stator while still in the machine from the second repair shop with a date stamp to prove it was still the original and after I was told it had been replaced by Tottenham Small Engines. I was also given back the original defective stator which I still have.
Tottenham small engines just made up a story, charged me for a part not installed, but did not do the work!
He also charged me $70 for a “new OEM ( Kawasaki) “ voltage regulator. It was NOT Kawasaki and was defective as well.
The real Kawasaki part is $200 with tax. He bought one on Amazon as I have seen on the site for around $25.
After spending almost another $1,000 in parts and labour at a different shop my ATV is now working.
The money I spent at Tottenham Small Engines was a complete waste…..
He lied about changing a part because I have pictures and the original part now in my possesion. How do you do that to a customer?
Very disappointed about his business ethic.
He tells a good story…..so I am sure there will be a rebuttal from him. But I have pictures, the written invoice about the alleged repair he said he did and the original parts. That cannot be disputed.
I sent an e-mail regarding my findings to him and gave him the opportunity to respond. There has not been a response, or a refund offered.
I will be filing a small claims court case to recover my money plus extra costs incurred.
As anticipated, I good fictitious story I just read regarding the rebuttal.
I will not be debating this on social media. That is what small claims court is for…..
Again…I have pictures of the old stator in the ATV after you said you replaced it and charged me for the time and labour.
And I have the old parts!!! How could you have changed them if I have them!!??
Plus the invoice from the repair shop that actually fixed the machine.
I will be asking you to provide to court the invoice for the stator which you can’t because you did not buy one.
I offered you an option to give me back $400 so neither of us will have this hassle. No response from you. Now I want my full invoice, plus court costs, plus damages.
No more posts from me…..probably more stories from you….
Let court decide.
