I had one of the worst days in my life, unexpected, my precious Lily cat was struggling to breathe, she was 17. I took her here and was greeted with compassion and honesty by the vet. She advised me of all her issues and was very honest about her possible out comes. I was able to make an informed decision without pressure. I sadly had to say goodbye.. my heart is still broken but she is at peace. I received a lovely card in the mail signed by the staff, with loving thoughts. ❤️

These guys are great! Had to make an emergency weekend visit to the vet and have been going back for all our pet visits ever since. The docs/admin are so friendly, great with shy animals. Great follow up after appointments.

We don't live in Victoria but were visiting when our dog needed care. We were so lucky to get an appointment within 24 hours so our pup didn't have to wait too long in discomfort/pain. The issue was not truly an emergency - but not something that could wait a week, either. The staff on the phone and in person were excellent and the vet herself was exactly the right mix of compassion, getting the details and the science right for the animal + taking care of the human. Very happy with the service and the price was reasonable particularly since it was urgent care.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Took great care of my cat, was wonderful and compassionate when my son had to bring in another one of our cats as it had passed. They even did our cats paw prints for my son and myself, which were lovely done too.

My daughter and I chose McKenzie Veterinary Services for our family dog's euthanizing as we had used this clinic over the years for her shots. I was stunned at the treatment we received the dreaded day of the end of her life and am disgusted that humans working in such a sensitive area would be so absolutely insensitive during the termination of our beloved puppy of 14 and a half years. After little Bella received the first shot to calm her, a staff member entered the treatment room and asked for payment. After several attempts by one clerk at getting the machine to take my credit card, then my bank card, then my daughter trying, it was determined that the machine was non-functional. There was little Bell on the table, sedated and in need of comfort, and we were fumbling with payment. Then a second staff member came in with another machine interrupting our final moments with our pet, with yet another machine, which finally worked. It was GROSS. When I went to pick up her ashes I spoke with Suzanne, the new office manager, and she told me that payment is usually procured BEFORE going into the treatment room. Obviously these insensitive staff members FORGOT to do their job and made the most difficult experience of my 63 years of life even more difficult. I have been a registered nurse for 42 years and know that death can be done in beautiful ways. Instead of being able to lovingly be with my dog in her final moments, my daughter and I had to deal with these poorly trained individuals. For $500 + I definitely expected a more heartfelt experience. I would never recommend this clinic, and hope that others never have to experience the lack of humanity that these two individuals exhibited in the final moments of your loved one. As a response to your remarks Suzanne, our conversation behind closed doors was your valiant effort to EXPLAIN your staff's behavior but it does not EXCUSE it. Google reviews are about informing the public so that we can make decisions about which business' we want to support. I stand by mine. The treatment we received has ADDED to our grief, and as I see by other reviews, others have been treated similiarly. I am glad that you are working with your staff so that they can take responsibility for the service they offer, bad or good. Performance reviews are an integral part of my profession, and should be in yours.
