Do Not Bring Your Pet Here! Dr.Bruce saw our pug late at night, didn’t know anything that was wrong with her. Sent us home with a $400 bill, no care plan, no medication and to kick it all off... when we asked for a cone to protect her eye wanted to charge us another 27 bucks. When we complained that we didn’t get any answers and were basically charge for nothing and that we weren’t going to pay for the cone. He asked for the cone back. Extremely lazy, uncaring vet. Do not go here. He’s useless.

I wish our visit to this clinic hadn't been an emergency so I could've had time to read all of these AWFUL reviews! We brought our senior dog in after he had a seizure with the firm decision to let him go after a long and difficult deliberation about his quality of life and his and our safety. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make for us and we were distraught. Dr. Maricle spent 30 mins trying to talk us out of it, pushing a huge array of tests to "try", of which we painfully declined repeatedly. As many other reviews have mentioned he also threatened to report us for animal cruelty because our OLD dog had a few bad teeth. When he finally agreed to the euthanasia they took him to the back for 25 mins and blew both his veins, he came back all bandaged and struggled two more times to give him the meds. Every time the vet left the room he was gone at least 10-20 mins. This heartbreaking appointment was dragged out over 1 1/2 hours. Our bill was over $700. After to talking to other that have brought their pets here I've learned most have had similar experiences.

We've been bringing our pets (2 dogs and 2 cats) here since moving to Kamloops a year ago. Staff are friendly, caring, considerate, helpful and always follow up to see how our pets are doing. Doctors and technicians are great and up to date in their field.

I brought my sick cat here 2 times for the same problem, once on Friday morning and again 3 days later on Monday morning. He was not being himself and I could tell that something was very wrong. I seen a different vet both times. I told both vets that it was a possibility that he had eaten an earplug. First vet decided to check for crystals in his urine. He said he could run other tests if I wanted but didn't sound like he thought any would be worthwhile and he thought he was fine to send home. The vet I seen on Monday suspected a bowel obstruction after doing some xrays and suggested an overnight stay with IV and force feeding as a first course of action to see if he could pass it on his own. I was not made aware of any risks of this choice of action, and I'm kicking myself for not asking questions and just taking the advice of the vet. That evening before they closed I called to check in and my cat was apparently doing well. The next morning I got a call that my cat did not make it through the night. I wrongly assumed my cat was in good hands being at the vet's office overnight, but in actuality he was left alone overnight to die. Further investigation after his death revealed that it was in fact an earplug he had eaten, just as I had said to not one but two different vets. Finally, a seemingly sympathetic receptionist tells me the cremation options ($150+ for a private cremation) on top of the $600 bill I have to pay. Fortunately I was aware that the City of Kamloops Bylaw office will do a private pet cremation for $42. Heartbroken that my healthy 4 year old cat's life was cut short by a series of wrong decisions, both on my part and the vets at this clinic.

The person I spoke to on the phone was very dismissive and about as unhelpful as they get. As I was trying to ask a final question, they hung up on me mid-sentence. I'll be picking a different vet clinic from now on. Very unprofessional and rude.
