DR.PETER BAJWA

I have been a long time client of surrey animal hospital. In 5 years the exam price has not risen. This clinic is super.busy as a result so there is not alot of chit chat. The prices don't break your wallet, I've never had an issue with the service.

DO NOT ever take your pet here if you care about them. This clinic is just out to get your money and does not care about your pet at all. On top of that, the veterinarians here don’t seem to be very knowledgeable about animal care which is extremely frustrating and scary. If you need after-hours pet care in Surrey and need to see a Vet, go to Mainland Animal Hospital on Fraser and 153rd. On Saturday night while my husband and I were out of town, our dog, after his walk, started acting funny and stopped walking. My parents, in a rush and panicking, took him to Surrey Animal Hospital. The vet insisted that an X-Ray was needed and then proceeded to tell my parents that he needed to immediately go on IV and stay overnight (the X-Ray showed gas in the stomach). That’s when we got a call and we told the vet to release our dog and let him go home as we have had some bad experiences in the past here as well, so we did not trust for them to keep him overnight. The only reason my parents took him there in the first place was because they couldn’t find our phone list of Vets we had vetted ourselves. We figured if it’s gas it would pass naturally. A half an hour passed after my parents took our dog home and he was still acting abnormal and was having difficulty breathing. At this point, they found out that Mainland Animal Hospital was a 24hr hospital and rushed him over there. The vet there assessed him and realized that his symptoms resembled that of a dog that had something stuck in his throat (no X-ray needed, just the opinion of a good knowledgeable vet). Sure enough, when he opened his mouth, there was a 2-inch piece of stick stuck in his throat! Using tweezers, the vet managed to take it out and immediately my parents said our dog looked better and started to breathe normally. I am completely astonished that Surrey Animal Hospital missed the fact that he had a stick stuck in his throat! What was the point of doing the X-Ray before doing a basic routine check to rule out choking? Had we left our dog in their care overnight what would have happened in the morning? A stick lodged in his throat would not have come out by itself! Their answer to every single instance of a dog being brought in for care seems to be that the pet needs an IV and overnight stay (this has happened to us before and unfortunately not knowing any better we have left him there). The only conclusion that I can think of is that the overnight stay and IV is what they are able to charge an arm and a leg for so that’s always what they want you to do. The fact that they could miss something as obvious (to the other vet) as something being lodged in the dog’s throat is terrifying. This clinic should not even be allowed to operate as they only care about their bottom line and not the health of the precious animals brought into their clinic. I agree their charges are very reasonable but that should not come before your pet’s health and safety.

First time experience with this vet. I was very sceptical with the google reviews being so low but I had a friend recommend me. Ended up having a really positive experience! I felt very comfortable leaving my baby in the vets hands! Very knowledgeable and friendly! Prices were also very fair! Would recommend this place to anyone.

They took our money for the cremation of our Chow Chow, did not provide us with a proper invoice. We only received the credit card receipt that described the amount paid. The point I am making is it could have been for dog food and not proof of cremation. We had asked for blood to be drawn as we wanted to pay and test it for toxicity. My niece is a Dr. Vet at the Singapore Zoo and said the blood could be drawn from our Chow Chow for up to 10 hours. After her passing we were at hour five hours into the timeline for drawing a blood sample for toxic screening. A beautiful "Pooch" that was always dearly loved with a wonderful disposition and a rascal. We are left with no proof of how our special family member was disposed of, or a simple vial of blood. AVOID THESE PEOPLE ...... if you truly love your special family member. ps: It seems someone else in the past few months had their German Shepard not cremated by reading the review but cruely tossed into a dumpster for disposal. Their Review: 7 months ago- OUR BEAUTIFUL GERMAN SHEPHERD is DEAD! even though we asked for cremation. . I had to call to find out they threw him away. Then the comment was made....what about the bill it hasn't been paid. Then they said they would call us back and ya you guessed it...they never did.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE. It is unsafe, unsanitary, and will scare your pet. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. I promise they do NOT care about your animal. I brought my cat here not realizing what I was getting her into. She was acting unusual and peeing outside her litter box so the vet said he needed to do one test, which lead to another and some more because he supposedly couldn't figure it out. Then he said they need to keep her for a week to monitor her. Hesitantly, my sister and I said okay thinking this vet knew what he was doing. When we came to visit her the next day, she was laying in her own pee, terrified, and clearly in more pain then when we left. That was the last straw. We ended up paying $1,200 running tests on her before we finally decided this place was hell. The other animals were crying and were clearly not cared for. The vets behavior towards the animals is ridiculous, he doesn't seem to be fond of animals at all. We took her to a different hospital which was 100x better, unfortunately we found out she had cancer and according to them, the vet at the previous hospital should've known she had cancer after all the tests we had done. I feel so guilty for allowing my cat to spend that much time at this hell hole. I am however thankful she was able to spend her last days in the care of her new hospital where they showed us how to care for her at home so she wouldn't need to be hospitalized. PLEASE don't bring your animal here. They just want your money, this practice needs to be shut down.

Avoid taking your pet to this vet clinic at any cost. The details are before the College of Veterinarians regarding our concerns. Dirty, and unprofessional find another vet for your special pet.
