Took me in exactly at my appointment time. The girls are really sweet and helpful and dr. David was really nice and explained everything to me. It’s my first visit and $ wasn’t bad at all. Would recommend to anyone.

I would give this place 0 stars if it was possible. Dr. Maggie was a decent vet but her treatments did nothing for my dog. She handed us over to Dr Hensen who gave my terminally ill dog vaccinations... she passed away shortly after. He constantly made me purchase products that were unnecessary and would sit there talking me into purchasing it (Dr Maggie never did this). I’ve spent tons of money on products i never actually gave my dog. He was aware I didn’t want to purchase and kept talking me into buying things so that my bill would be at least 500$ every visit, which was very frequent since my dog was very ill.

Well, I finally want to report my experience since it has been bugging me for years. I picked up a dumped cat at work that looked skinny and had bite marks, took it to Paumanok to get vetted and fixed. Date was around 12-12-2011. After bloodsamples it was discovered he was feline leukemia positiv. At the time I had at least 6 other cats. They told me best thing would be to put him down. I refused as I just rescued him. Then they told me I had to keep him separate from the others and he would not live past 2 years. I had him vetted and fixed ( I remember it was not cheap). I kept him separate for almost a year. I felt sorry for him as he is a sweetheart. I did some extensive research and discovered that cats can live with this disease for a long time. It depends on various other things. So, I took him out of isolation. In 2011 he was around one year old. It is now 2018! He is one of the most loving, sweetest cats we have! AND STILL ALIVE! They wanted me to put him down! They should know about their profession! How many cats have been put down that could have lived a good life? I wanted to bring Jingles back to them to show them, but we are in Canada now. Dont believe Vets, do some research, get a second opinion! I spent many thousands when I could not afford it because I was given false hope. There are some good vets out there, but its hit and miss.

I have been taking my pets to Paumanok Veterinary Hospital since they have been in Patchogue. They are open 7 days a week, keep the hospital clean, and all the Veterinarians are concerned and very qualified. I feel that my pets and I are well cared for at this hospital and I have confidence in the ability of all the staff that work there. Edith Caldarelli
