This facility is amazing. It has a large open space where the cats are free to move about and lounge in perches by windows, interact with other cats, and just get some exercise. It is a relaxed environment where they can socialize and live comfortably until a loving home can be found for them. Recently, I captured a beautiful stray cat that I had been trying to trap for over a year now. She was matted, dirty, flea ridden, skinny, but so friendly. I couldn’t keep her as my husband is allergic and we already have one cat that causes him to react... two would kill him for sure! So, I called Bide Awhile, to see if they could take her in. Darrell was so helpful and accepted her that day. I honestly couldn’t believe my luck (or rather her luck). I am comfortable and I know that they will take good care of her. All of their cats get vet-checked, tested for FIV/FeLV, treated for fleas/mites/parasites, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and treated for any other illnesses or injuries they may have. The cost per cat is high, but they willingly accepted the poor cat that had been struggling outside for the last year. I think it is phenomenal that they are not only focused on finding homes for these abandoned cats, but they also care immensely about their quality of life while at the shelter. I wish more shelters could adopt their ideology as this place is beautiful and kind. Keep up the good work, you’re making a huge difference in their lives.

Their main concern are the pets. As it should be. I have had not so friendly experiences over time but this time was pleasant. I would recommend because of the cleanliness of the entire place and their love of the animals. For a friendlier experience I would go to the SPCA.

I had the pleasure of adopting a cat from the wonderful people at Bide Awhile, they are an amazing no-kill shelter, and they helped my wife and I find a cat that was a perfect fit with us. If you are looking to give an animal in need a forever home, this place will help.

The establishment was super clean and the staff very friendly. The animals looked like they were well taken care of and all the cages were clean - no turn up your nose smells. The adoption went very smoothly with only a small amount of paperwork.
