Over the past 10 years I've taken my 2, older, rescue cats (I've had them both since they were kittens) to numerous vets & have literally spent thousands of dollars just to have them get worse than they were before.. So, by the time we got to Dr. Butler, I was more than a little worried & super frustrated with my failure to get them good medical care-- but Dr. Butler's experience, care & expertise completely restored my faith in (& respect for) veterinary medicine. First impressions were excellent. Making an appointment was quick & easy, and the clinic itself is easy to get to, comfortable and very clean. The care provided is outstanding! Dr. Butler is warm, friendly, professional & extremely competent, and her knowledge & expertise are beyond refreshing and so easily shared! Rarely have I come across a professional who not only has such valuable owner information, but shares it freely in a way that's easy to understand. (I learned more about allergies & asthma in cats in 2 visits than I have in several years.) The best part about having Dr. Butler as a vet is that my boys are actually feeling better!! For the first time in years, they're looking & feeling healthier again.. which means I get to worry a lot less & enjoy caring for them and my time with them a lot more. :) Prices are great, (especially when you consider how she did more for my cats in 1 visit than the previous 10 at other vets) and my only regret is that I didn't find this place sooner. If you're like me and want the best possible care for your furry family members, I highly recommend Dr. Butler at Vanier Animal Hospital-- she is absolutely amazing!

The Good: Dr. Butler genuinely cares for the well-being of your pet. The Bad: Does not offer alternative solutions and is too quick to react. She also seems to diagnose all pets with allergies. Recommend? No.

Dr. Butler is genuine....we've talked on the phone before and she gave us free advice about our sick dog without even coming in. Her staff or receptionists however are idiots and very rude. They refused to see our sick dog when we brought him there because they thought weit were rude. We had cash in hand. Before this they referred us to a vet on Lola as they said they weren't equipped to deal with our emergency. We only called here in a crisis when our dog collapsed at home. Our dog walker referred us because she said they are excellent. We were treated very rudely and apparently banned and asked not to call. I tried to call Dr Lola directly to work out the situation but the older receptionist kept hanging up. Dr. Butler never treated us this way. Appalled. I reckon she will do the right thing, go above her staff and reach out to us to correct the situation and whatever miscommunication occurred. We asked for clarification and did not receive a reply. I'm sure this horrible and unprofessional customer service is.not a reflection of Dr. Butler's expertise or business. The old one seems burnt out.

Dr.Butler is a great vet.Vanier Animal Hospital has fair prices for their services and the vet takes her time to explain things to you with non-veterinary wording:)I am glad I brought my cats in there.

I thought I would be overwhelmed with information. But she answered all my questions before I even asked them. She just routinely talks about all things that puppy owners would want to talk, so I felt she was so comfortable and experienced, knowing what owners would ask about. I really do believe she isn't doing this for money. She even gave me a tour of her clinic and the facilities. Sweet doctor took her time with my appointment, happy to have found a vet for my shih tzu.
