Have trusted Westmount Animal Hospital for years, both my parents and myself use their services. No matter which vet you see, they always care a great deal about your pets and want to provide them with the best care. If you ever want to feel like the best pet parent ever; Westmount Animal hospital is the place to be. I always get told that I have the sweetest cat, and that she's sooooo beautiful. Really makes my day. Keep up the great work guys :)

Today was the third time going into this Vet Clinic. I again saw a different Vet for the third time. The vet came into see my dog, she proceeds to ask me everything that I had just told the Vet Tech, takes some notes. She then assesses my dog - because she has never seen her and does not know her history-so again, I have a vet who knows nothing about my dog, so I proceed to fill her in (which I've done with 2 other vets at this clinic). She then proceeds to go over some test results (that were highly over priced) from October (which were ordered by another vet) and I have already had the results given to me. She seems to get a bit agitated with my dog, who is on the steel counter top slipping all over, has horrible knees and the vet is forcing her to stay still - a little to forceful if you ask me. My dog is a 8 pound 8 year old Pomeranian and is heavily stressed at this point. If you know the breed you understand. She proceeds to not give me any valuable information regarding what I came in for (a collapsed trachea diagnosis-or not?-She also never used this term making me wonder if she knew what the hell she was doing), tells me my dog looks normal, everything is fine. I also inquired about the raw food I have been giving my dog and if I should be supplementing anything with it. She tells me basically to do the research myself. IM SORRY? WHY am I giving you 90$ for 15 min of your time and you cant answer a simple question about raw food???!?!? BUT...BUT than she says we should do xrays- than placed a HIGHLY over priced bill ever so gently on the counter thinking I would what...Say yes? so I ask her about the price and to break down what is in front of me and she says "ill leave you to think about it" , I called my old vet which is 45min away, priced out the same service- 150$ less and this included extra services (this vet is also highly reputable in Guelph) I used to be in dentistry, this place reminds me of one of those chain offices where the staff is miserable (which they kind of are) the whole place has a bad vibe, and they don't care about your pet-they care about $$$. I've also been pushed to get my dogs teeth done several times - this was just done and I brush my dogs teeth each night, so why would I put my dog under sedation again, oh that's right... to line your pockets Needless to say , I would trust this clinic with my dog and I wont be going back. Horrible Experience ZERO STARS

Awesome vets and vet techs. Their prices are reasonable and they don’t try to dig into your pockets. They give you prices up front and options for treatments. Plus they always follow up a few days later to see how your furry friend is doing. Highly recommended!

Just wasn’t fond of the whole approach, felt rushed. Displeased with the overall experience. I’ve had animals there in the past which I loved going there, there was a vet there I loved he is no longer there. It had been years since I have been there. We got a new puppy and first visit was ok. She checked her over said everything looked great. I asked her about food she said she won’t tell me what kind of food to feed my new puppy but to make sure it’s large breed puppy food. I do my Research and I feel raw food diet is the best for my pup. I make sure all supplements are there. She asked me what she was on and I told her raw food. She said she doesn’t recommend it for puppies. I understand vets don’t necessarily love the idea of he raw food, but in all honesty I also didn’t ask her for that opinion as she didn’t want to give me a recommendation for food in the first place. As I am aware that supplements are critical, I have supplements at home and she recommended flora flor. Which helps the digestive system. I told her I have a powder at home I give to her that does the same thing I can’t remember the name of it. She asked is it flora flor. I said no but it’s similar to what you described. And she continued to say no she needs this and obviously I said ok because the doctor knows best. I got the bill at the end already feeling unfulfilled with my visit and it was a bigger bill than expected. I also needed to book for a rabies vacune in a month. No one said anything the secretary rushed and and we left. Needless to say I’m on the edge of switching to another vet and have asked for recommendations in my community. Not one person said Westmount. I’m also not one to do reviews either but I feel this one needed to be done as my experience just wasn’t up there and when you pay that amount of money you want to make sure your dog is properly cared for. But I feel she gave her a once over and that was it.

Dr. Shany is the best vet we have ever taken our animals to. He's knowledgeable, compassionate and genuinely cares about our pets as if they were his own. We make sure our cats are always booked to see Dr. Shany. We had a bad experience with Dr. Orsini, she gave us the wrong advice when we brought our cat in for acne. We saw her again when our other cat was suffering from an unknown illness and she was really rude. Not compassionate at all and didn't seem to have a care in the world that our cat was dying right before our eyes. Our cat ended up having to be euthanized and for that we saw Dr. Shany, he was very kind and gentle towards us and our cat. The entire staff from their technicians to their reception staff is amazing but I would highly advise against seeing Dr. Orsini.
