I wish I didn’t have to leave this review but unfortunately “Debbie” at the front desk has such a horrible attitude that this needs to be addressed. I have dealt with Dr. Leader & Dr. Terry who are both fantastic as stated in other reviews. Both of them 5/5 stars. Now to Debbie. She is absolutely horrible to deal with. Her attitude is consistently miserable and she is everything that a business does not want when you walk into and when you are checking out of a business. I have worked in customer service for years, the “face” of a company is incredibly important, as it is the first experience a new or returning customer is subjected to. Debbie is negative, unhelpful, miserable, and downright unpleasant when walking in the door. This problem is further accentuated due to the fact that after you get past her and deal with one of the amazing doctors things get back on track, the experience is coming back out of the gutter, and then you have to go back and deal with the horrible person at the front desk and her attitude. Most of the time you are forking over our money, we work day in and day out to earn, to Debbie who makes it seem like you have inconvenienced her life by checking out and paying your bill. Heartland Pet Hospital needs to coach Debbie on the appropriate way to interact with customers in person (new or returning) and via the phone. Otherwise the best thing they could do is find a staff member who wants to be there and enjoys what he/she does. There are plenty of Veterinarians in Mississauga! Heartland Pet Hospital needs to earn new customers & work to maintain their relationship with existing ones. I will be hard pressed to ever walk in that office again.

Dr.Leader and the staff are very committed and care for the pet. From my experience over more than a year, I can say that unlike other vets, they do not grab money from pet owners in the guise of tests or treatments that are unnecessary as it happens with some vets. Good and safe place to take your pet.
