3 days before we were leaving on vacation, our daughter's pet guinea pig, Brownie, took ill. She wasn't eating and we weren't sure if it was the heat or general malaise. We brought here into Grandview. Dr. Ashley, one of the vets with a specialty and love of pocket pets was our attending physician. We were happy about this. She took x-rays and told us that Brownie was full of gas and that's probably why she wasn't eating. She had the recommended treatment and felt that Brownie would get better. We received a call on the Thursday saying things were moving positively and that we could pick her up on Friday. Dr. Ashley called and said that she wanted to observe her some more and to buy some new pellets. We had our mother-in-law teed up to watch Brownie as were leaving for vacation on the Saturday, but decided to leave Brownie in the care of Grandview just in case she didn't adapt well to the new food or took a turn for the worse. This turned out to be a good decision as Brownie's health appeared to show signs of non-stabilization. Dr. Ashley came in on her own time to check on Brownie over the weekend. How wonderful for us. Monday and Tuesday we got calls from Dr. Ashley keeping us abreast of Brownie's condition. She wasn't grasping her hay properly and perhaps now a dental condition. Guinea pigs need to constantly eat for the health of their gut. Dr. Ashley made calls on our behalf to the University of Guelph. They provided us the plan and cost. In the end, we decided to put Brownie down rather than have her endure a taxi ride to Guelph and no guarantees she would be better. A sad and hard call. We want to thank Dr. Ashley and her team for their time, care and compassion. It made all the difference in the world. I highly recommend this animal hospital. Charlene

Friendly, courteous and professional staff; knowledgeable. Also very accommodating. My dog had worms and needed treatment, unfortunately I had a fall the day before and couldn't bring her in....I brought the worm in a baggie to confirm diagnosis and was sent home with treatment for both dogs. ...great compassionate service with reasonable prices!
