I have only positive things to say about Alta Vista Animal Hospital on Bank St. I took my little beagle there for the last few years of her life, and they gave her top-notch care until her time had come to an end. The doctors and staff are very compassionate and understand the love and concern that each owner has for their pet. Now I am bringing in my Greyhound, and I am getting the same amazing care and attention. Of course we all have our favourite doctors, but every one gives their all to the animals. One thing that I find remarkable is, that they will spend as much time as needed with the animal until a solution is found and the owner understands exactly what the treatment will be. We are never rushed and all of our questions are answered. Thank you to everyone at AVAH.

Amazing staff from the start to end. We brought our beautiful dog in on emergency and unfortunately it was too late. Considering the horrible circumstances, we found comfort with their empathetic, kind, patient staff members. Throughout this ordeal they were very accommodating to us and gave us all the time and days we needed to grieve. Not once did we feel rushed or judged. We also felt our beloved dog was well cared for despite he outcome. They were gentle with him and still provided him with comfort (blanket, handling and overall care). Thank you for all you’ve done for our family during this difficult time.

I have been taking my pets to Alta Vista hospital for more than 15 years and never looked back. Dr. Lara Jamieson has been taking care excellent care of my pets. when she is not available or if my pets need specialized services, I have easy access to the other vets. I have only had positive experience with the staff. All are friendly, honest and considerate. As for the pricing, I believe it is reasonable based on the quality of work and accessibility one has. I have always been given estimates beforehand for significant treatments (with optional items when applicable to reduce the price) and I don't recall ever costs exceeding these estimate, and in many cases it was below it.

I've been to the clinic and the hospital a many times over the years and have been impressed with the level of care given to my dogs. One time I had to call the hospital on a weekend talking to a technician and he was very helpful asking the on-call doctor for advice. On another occasion Dr. Gower was great in answering all my questions and concerns, and took very good care of my dog. The same applied when my dog almost had to have a back surgery, I was very grateful of the surgeon’s competence and frankness. He did tell me that even the surgery could help her, but it is not necessary. If they were after making money the easiest way then would have been to tell me that the surgery is needed and I would have paid upwards of 6 thousand dollars for it. Even though the clinic may be more expensive than some other places but I would not go anywhere else as I have full confidence in the knowledge, compassion and care provided at Alta Vista Animal Hospital. I will not hesitate going back or recommending the clinic or the hospital to others.

We love the treatment my dog gets here. They are gentle and compassionate staff, very knowledgeable and i feel as though my animal comes first, not my wallet. Never felt pushed into any regretful decisions as I've seen and experienced elsewhere. Dre. Tyre is the best Vet I ever had for my dogs. She is kind, caring and loves her work. If you're hesitant in bringing in your pets here, don't. They're the best, in my opinion. Thank you Alta Vista Animal Hospital/Clinic. Boo-Boo is always in great health, following your treatment and services. (As per your recommendations) Keep up the great work. :)
