Like many others, I’m with the crowd that would give zero stars if I could. If Metro wasn’t the only vet within almost 50 miles of me to see rats on an emergency, I’d be somewhere else in a heartbeat. I was here on 07/18/2018 around 8:00pm. One of my baby rats had gotten their leg tangled in loose threads of a hammock. I came home from work and found her dangling. After cutting her down, I rushed 40 minutes to Metro. Upon arriving, I was immediately asked for $110 just for walking in the door. After 30 minutes in the lobby, they took me to a windowless room and I waited another 10 to have my rats history taken. Granted, I understood the place was busy, but if you’re an emergency hospital, you should be well staffed at all times. I sat in that windowless room for an /hour and a half/. It’s a good thing my rat wasn’t in organ failure, she could have and would have died in that cold, lonely room. Nobody even came to check on us or tell us they were busy for the entire time. It wasn’t until I threatened to walk out without paying for anything that I was told we were next. Lo and behold, the actual vet didn’t walk in for another 30-40 minutes. My rat was in severe pain, disoriented, and dehydrated. It took the vet all of 3 seconds to see her and dismiss us. And the only excuse they had was “we’ve had a lot of emergencies tonight.” I feel sorry for those with cases worse than mine, but I came because it WAS an emergency. I was shoved to the back of the line over and over again while my pet suffered. And there was no where to go. I was treated like my pet didn’t matter as much as others that were there- even those who were not coded as stat. I came here a time before this as well, and the same thing happened. Except they offered to euthanize my rat before treating her. Without even touching her. When I refused, they wanted to charge me $600 or so to keep her overnight. In the end, they sent my dying rat home with just steroids and sub q fluids. She died less than four days later. I blame this place for making her suffer. This vet is only after money. They don’t care unless you can pay the entire payment in cash on the spot, and in talking to other pet owners, they are notorious for euthanizing without permission, transferring pets without permission, and doing unauthorized tests and procedures, with several stories even quoting that the vets stated some surgeries or tests were unnecessary. Please, if you love your animal- dog, cat, rat or otherwise- take them somewhere else.

I had to take a very sick kitty to them in the middle of the night. She had to be put down and it seems like it took them forever to do it. Other than that it was pretty good. The Prices were reasonable.

The staff and veterinarian were caring to us as we had to bring my mother's dog to be put to sleep. The cost was under $100 since we wanted to take him home. You are given time to grieve with your pet and you can choose to be in the room or step out when the Dr. Administers the medication to put the pet care"to sleep".They put her dog in a burial box and had the dog covered with a crochet blanket and brought him out to the car . That was very meaningful to us and grateful we chose to go to there for our pet.

The facilities are wonderful and the doctor was amazing and really cared but I didn't give it 5 stars because I had to wait too long, although I understand that there were many emergencies it took about five I was my trip to ER on a Friday night. I am glad my dog was seen by the veterinarian that attended us because she was extremely knowledgeable and took care and dedicated a long time to explain to us what was wrong and even other possibilities. She was so kind to even call later to tell us about the results of the x-rays. I wish you had a private practice because I will take my dog to her in a heartbeat. Great doctor! The staff is very nice and the facilities are well located but the wait was a bit too much, that is not anyone's fault but senior management who could hire more personnel four nights like last Friday's...

They over charge and you will wait hours just to speak to a vet.. if you dont just leave after waiting so long like many do.. plus the staff of very rude if you ask them anything. I have been there more times than I can count and have spent enough money there to add another wing. But outta all them times maybe had a good experience once.. but they were close and open 24 / 7 so I kept going. But the place continues to get worse every day and it's just not worth it anymore. Will be taking my business and money elsewhere for now on...
