We tried a couple of vets in the neighbourhood but knew this was the one for us after our first visit. Dr. Foster and the staff are clearly all animal lovers, and they always were very gentle and kind with our dog, and very thorough each and every visit. Our dog actually liked going to the vet after a while! When we moved away we were sad to have to leave them - I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I've had animals in the past go to other clinics and I can assure you that the costs for examination, medication and procedures are all comparable to this clinic. I've never felt like they were gouging us, and they have always told us the breakdown of costs prior to performing any procedure to get our consent. They care so deeply for every animal here and I've never met such an attentive and loving team. Dr. Foster is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to answer every single question you have (even if it's not related to your current visit). My partner and I both agreed that we've never even had our own doctors treat us with such care and we know that our fur ball is being really well taken care of.

Great care and service! We were given options and all costs up front so we could choose how we took care of our dog. Amazing!

Everyone here was very kind and considerate of my pet. My appointment took place on time and they attended to my cat's problem very quickly. In retrospect, things moved too quickly. My cat was squatting low to the ground to perhaps favour a soar tummy and hadn't had a poop in a few days. Upon being brought to this clinic, he was put through all sorts of tests (expensive!!!) and everything short of exploratory surgery, which I said no to because I could not afford, was done to him. In the end, it turned out that he was extremely constipated and once cleared out and put on a new cat food diet - with fibre, he was fine and has been ever since. SO, all that AND $3500 to find out that I had a constipated cat!!! Is it possible that cleaning out his system and giving him a new cat food and waiting to see how that went could have saved me at least $3000 of that money? After all, when my kid has a soar tummy and hasn't pooped in days, the doctor doesn't start by poking him with needles, ordering a half dozen tests, and suggesting surgery - thank goodness! My thinking: what a money grab!

I have taken my dog to see Dr. Foster for 7 years and the doctor has always been straight to the point and full of useful information about and for my dog. I've always liked Dr. Foster. However, I have found in recent years that Tracey, the manager, always tries to upsell me on more tests and shots that even Dr Foster himself had deemed unnecessary (I did not notice this in the first few years from Tracey, only the last 2 or 3). Then, if I decline, she has made me feel guilty if I decide to leave something out, which I find totally unfair. My dog is my pet and it is my ultimate decision on what is best for my dog. Not only that, I recently requested a quote for my dog's annual check up and all required shots. This took a week for them to complete. I called to a few other vets and nearly every other one was able to give me a quote while on the phone with me, and most were around 60% of what Davenport Road charges!! It's as though they charge that amount just because they know well-off people live in the area. Well, they seriously need to consider that not everyone is rich living around there. I have switched my vet for my dog at this time. I'm disappointed because it was nice to have a regular place to go to. On a positive note, the vet techs have always been more than friendly. One even used to deliver my sister's cat's medication from time to time.
