I've known them for years. When they first opened, they were great. I would go there quite a bit and bought a few instruments off of them in the 90's. I went back there after living out of town for some time and Ben was a total jerk. He would'nt give me the time of day and snapped at me when I asked about the Tanglewood guitars that he had there. I am a semi-pro musician and have dealt with many music stores in my day and this was probably my worst experience ever other than dealing with the morons who used to own Prom. I have never been back, nor will I ever go back.

Awesome folks. Quirky? Sure. Highly skilled? Yup. Ben is a great teacher and Helen is a prize. Both are fantastic to deal with if you spend more than thirty seconds chatting and if you have a sense of humour. Couldn't recommend their lessons or their shop more highly.

Went there to get a cable for my new bass, and knew exactly what I wanted. Ben greeted me fair, but as soon as I started talking he turned smug. I told him exactly what I was looking for and right away he started turning me down and told me what I "needed". I was looking for a "L" cable for my bass, but he insisted that I needed a heat wrapped one. Now my patch cable wasn't on the bottom, it was in the middle of the bass facing directly up because my bass was an X shape. I kept insisting that I needed an L cable because its very likely its going to snap if i get a heat wrapped. So I knew I needed the cable and just got what he gave me. $50.00 later and the second day of owning it that cable snapped just like I thought it would. Thanks Jett Landry. P.S. I ended up going to long and mcquade and they told me i needed an L cable because of the placement. They know what they are talking about.

I always have a good time in there, regardless of whether or not I buy anything. Very down to earth people.

Worst Experience Ever!!! Be Me: Moved to Sudbury from Vancouver Wife buys me new guitar for christmas. Has tuning locks. Don't have Allen key. Sign up to participate in community program #excited Can't wait to meet new people. Play music. Go to guitar clinic. Walk into an empty shop. Polite greeting. Explain community program and ask if they could loosen tuning locks. With unwarranted attitude makes eye contact. SMUGLY says 30.00$ #No thanks Begins a rehearsed pitch about how my guitar has a floating bridge and how action needs to be adjusted, ect.... Ask him "isn't it just 3 bolts I need loosened" Assured me it's much more. Quietly pack my guitar back up as he speaks. Without provocation, a woman comes from the back room. Tells me I should take my guitar to where I bought it. Upon leaving I state "I will never come here again" Man responds"that's fine. I've never seen you before anyway" Go to Jett laundry. Customers in store. Explain my situation. They loosen 3 tuning locks. Notice action is low, adjust two additional bolts. Tune my guitar. Time to complete entire job is 90 seconds. Then they give me the Allen key. I don't know if the guitar clinic was trying to rip me of cause they thought I was nieve. Or if they felt like I was wasting there time and couldn't be bothered. Worst customer service ever. I realize I was not there to purchase but after the way I was treated, I wouldn't buy a string much less a guitar pick from these people. Beginners and novice buyers beware. This place is a con shop. Thank you Jett Laundry.
