i have been meaning to write a review about Mr Fogle for sometime but have had better things to do. Walking past his practice today reminded me that I must share my experiences with you.
Experience 1
Fogle advised me to change my dog food to the brand (Science Plan) he sold in his shop because my dog had an upset stomach. He actually diagnosed her with colitis. Her condition didn't improve and I had to return on several occasions for medication. Finally I decided to change her food to another brand (Lilies Kitchen) low and behold I never had another problem. Unfortunately my dog had now been suffering unnecessarily for years due to his misdiagnosis and bad advice.
Experience 2
My dog is very fury and whilst we were at the clinic for a health check if I remember asking if my dog could have a tidy and trim between her back legs. I was actually in the room during this procedure but could not see exactly what was happening due to the position my dog was in. Suddenly my dog let our a very distressing loud bark/scream. I asked if everything was okay and they reassured me it was. To be honest I wasn't sure of this as the noise from my dog was definitely an indication of severe pain but you trust these people, right? As soon as we left my dog started scooting her bum along the pavement at first I thought it was perhaps just irritated a little where she had been trimmed. She continued to do this, when we got to the park she tried to do a wee she let out a another distressing bark/scream, you could see on her face that she was in pain and didn't know what to do with herself. When I got home I examined her to find that they had cut off a layer of skin right on the tip of her daisy, it was red raw. I contacted the clinic straight away and they told me it was shaving rash! I sent them images of shaving rash examples on a dog which was obviously nothing like the injury they had caused. Now I'm a fair man and realise that accidents do happen but what they did by trying to cover it up is unforgivable. The staff were all in cahoots with Fogle in a desperate attempt to cover up what had happened. My dog was uncomfortable for over a week and crying when she had to dog wee. Fogle finally conceded after me having to force the issue and offered me a packet of treats as compensation.
Experience 3
I woke up one morning to find my dog looking poorly and staying in her basket so I took her straight to the clinic where she was examined by Fogle. He basically diagnosed her as possibly having anything thing from a broken spine to organ failure and said she would need to stay in over night for tests. I was worried sick and spent the whole day not knowing what to do with myself. Then I got a late afternoon phone call from the clinic saying I could come and pick her up. When I got there I was told it was nothing that Fogle had said in fact it was trapped wind! Fogle wanted to charge me £400.00 to tell me this. I actually checked this issue online and it's not an uncommon problem, one of which Fogle would have come across before. Instead he saw this as an opportunity to take as much money from me as possible. For me this was the final straw I didn't pay him and he never challenged me which tells it's own story.
To make matters even worse when I tried to move to another vet Fogle had written on my notes that I tried to avoid paying him and the vet would not take me on his books for that reason. Thankfully I have found another vet who so far has been great.
If you like being lead up the garden path, being lied to, having your pet misdiagnosed at every opportunity and have money to burn. Fogle fits the bill perfectly.
