I took my cat on two consecutive days to the clinic - the first day as an emergency and the second as follow-up as requested by the vet. The first visit was satisfying: the vet explained the procedure options, treatment was prescribed and the price seemed reasonable. There was a different vet the next day; she again explained the procedure well. The cat would be examined and the practice would 'phone me later in the day to see if the procedure was necessary. I left the cat with them and I signed a consent form for payment should the operation be necessary. I enquired if she would advise me on costs so far and she said that the only cost so far (apart from the previous day, which I'd paid) would be £35. I agreed to let her look at the cat and she casually explained that she would take a blood sample. I thought this would be included in £35 mentioned. The vet phone later to say that an operation was in fact necessary and would cost £1,300. I decided, on the phone with her, to look elsewhere for a cheaper option and went to collect the cat. On going back to the practice was presented with a bill for £130-odd pounds. It seems the £35 was for just a couple of hours welfare and the balance seemed to be for the blood test. Naturally I queried it but only had the receptionist to discuss it with - there was no vet to explain costing. I don't think I was given a breakdown on a bill either, although I can't be sure. They receptionist wasn't particularly helpful. I feel that the costing should have been far more clearly explained. The care that both vets took on both the days was very good and I very much appreciate their attitude and compassion, but it's left me very unsatisfied with the experience as a whole.

Moved to this Surgery from our previous very well known Vet in our area. From Reception to Vets, all very professional and friendly. Nothing is too much for them to help and provide advice and services.

We were disappointed to be told by the Receptionist that we couldn’t get an x-ray appointment on a weekend or towards the end of any week day. This really restricted our options as we needed an appointment asap. We even asked to ask our Vet directly if they would be willing to do an x-ray at the weekend, just as a one off, as it was so urgent, but the Receptionist still said no! However, then when we decided to go for a check up on the Saturday anyway, guess what? Our Vet offered us an X-ray straight away. Not a great front of house service and although the Vets are usually great, the unwillingness from Reception to help really left us feeling let down.

No nonsense. Clean. Not pushing optional things as necessary.
