Vet visits, when your best friend is not well, can be really stressful and confusing. If you don't have an unlimited budget but want to do the best for your pet, it can be very hard when the vet tries to push so much that the decision becomes impossibly emotional to make. Today I had the pleasure of having the exact opposite kind of veterinary care. This is why I am taking the time to share. I was completely overwhelmed and anxious before taking my senior dog there and worried about what the vet would say and how hard the decision would be. I was so pleasantly surprised by Dr Raphael Tremblay. He was great at explaining the details and options, no guilt trip whatsoever. A compassionate approach, very straight and clear. I left feeling so relieved that I made the right decision for my dog's treatment. I'm going to request him specifically from now on. Awesome vet and human. The tech was also wonderful, same with the receptionist. It works for me because it's hard to get a vet appointment after work. Highly recommended.

They are very nice but way, way too expensive and sometimes it feels like they are trying to guilt you into doing extra testing that is expensive and unnecessary. Trying to find another vet within the city now because I am kind of shocked by just how much they charge. Don't go here unless you have a lot of money to spare.

We just had our first appointment at Hôpital Vétérinaire Victoria and it was terrific! Great staff, super gentle and patient with our dog, who is not always a big fan of the vet’s office.

I will stay clear of this place if i can do so. In the middle of the week, my cat stopped eating and looked really sluggish so on Friday, I took him to a vet on the Plateau for a bunch of tests and some cortisone pills; turns out he's asthmatic. Vet tells me to come back the following day for an appetite stimulant if he doesn't eat. As soon as we come home, he already seems much better and eats a fair bit. Same on Saturday. He eats and his energy level is back on the rise. Different story on Sunday tho; he won't eat and is very sluggish. So today (Thanksgiving, so most vets are closed) i call this clinic to ask if it's possible to just pop in for an appetite stimulant; I'm told that no, i must absolutely bring the cat in: cost of the appointment: $200. All that for a simple prescription. This strikes me as awfully predatory and an attempt to make a quick buck out of of someone by taking advantage of their vulnerable state. No wonder the ratings for this place are mediocre. I will keep my fingers crossed that he'll make it through the next 24 hours and I'll go back to my Plateau vet tomorrow. And I will make sure to avoid Clinique Vétérinaire Victoria in the future if i can.

I had to bring our dog in at night and I was hesitant to due to the ratings but this was the only vet open late. I was so happy that I did as everyone there was so kind and caring for our pupper! Thank you to Tech Marie-Claire and Vet Daniella for everything! Update... Originally a 5 star review has now gone down to a 3. We had to return as a break still has not fully healed. After paying 500$+ we were charged for another visit and X-ray. Other vets do not charge for followup scans. When I asked about these charges and if something could be done regarding these charges and I was told they would look into it and never got a response. Too bad as we will not be returning.
