One of the BEST museums dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of it's people (Quebecois). Enjoyed viewing artifacts and reading about their place/purpose in the history of Quebec. Added bonus on the day we visited, listening to the local band "British Ovation" playing pop rock influenced by Anglophones and Francophones. Also enjoyed eating lunch prepared by Café 47 (the most beautiful inner courtyard of the city. The Museum's restaurant will charm you with its menu focused on local produce and its urban counter flair). Last piece of info, did you know residents of Quebec have free access to the Museum's exhibits on the first Sunday of each month, upon presentation of proof of residency. A "must see" when visiting old Quebec City.

A good museum for the whole family. We went for the "London Calling" exhibit which was "OK". But we explored most of the other parts of the museum which I found very interesting with a lot of different types of items to look at. We also as a family really enjoyed some of the interactive exhibits which were quite fun.

Love this museum! Museum shares knowledge that helps define our civilization, by means of material culture and the social culture. It ensures the conservation and development of the collection - a witness of the culture. Therefore, the whole collection may look odd in the sense of being very common , things we use, touch and interact everyday. However, the everyday function infused with utilitarian philosophy, industrial mass-production and a touch of artistic mind gives rise to the beautiful tables we see in the grand library of Montreal, the BiXi bikes and etc. As a city of design, this museum gives you another angel to appreciate the accolades of Montreal.

The museum is really interesting. it's big, so be prepared to walk around for a long time. They have separated areas with different exhibitions. They have a science centre where you can test robotics or try a 3d printer.

Great exhibits - visited the economic history of Canada (covered trade with the First Nations and turning into a first-world nation), the First Nation exhibit (with detailed history regarding their way of life, relationships with other First Nations, and gradual loss of culture), inventions + design, etc. The cost to enter the museum is very reasonable, considering how much material is presented. I just wish the museum could have opened till late on longer days. It's a great way to spend the day and understand Canada. All exhibits are bilingual, but some minor 'object labels' may only be in French.
